Subject: A non-DT fan speaks! Help this person...
I brought in I&W for this friend of mine at work, so he could be enlightened
while he worked. He had never heard them.
Anyway, here is his comments back to me. Any suggestions you might have on
how to help this person would be welcomed, maybe even forwarded on to his
e-mail ;-).
Here we go, and I quote
"Man, I listened to the first three songs and had to pack it in. This
sounds like a combination of ASIA, Kansas, Styx, and Def Leppard, all
deplorable "art rock" bands that consistently filthyed up the airwaves
thruout the Seventies and Eighties. Yuck. If Queensryche sounds anything
like this, don't even bother bringing in a CD."
There you have it. I didn't even know "filthyed" was a word. Anyway, all
comments are welcomed/encouraged.

If Eve is an instrumental then how can it have lyrics (the cow thing)?
Another thing: I think Home Sweet Home is a great recording, not as
good as DOE but is far better than Consciously Unreal.

Well - I finally found WDADU in HMV here in Toronto! Great songs, but
Chuckie D. might as well go back to Rush cover bands! I cannot say I am
a fan of this guy...He seemed to be in such a hurry to get thru A Fortune in
Lies - must have had the shits that day! Sounds a bit like a garage
recording at times...but I haven't held that against the Queensryche
premiere.
Later!
Greg.

Subject: WDADU Cover Pics
Hi there !
Inspired by the scanned pics from the I&W album on cs.uwp.edu, I thought
I could scan the WDADU back and front cover and put it there also, but
there seems to be spare room on the site anymore, or only less space in
the incoming directory.
So now I'm sitting here with my pics, not knowing where to put them.
Any ideas ?
The pics are 300 x 300 JPEG, about 20k each.
Patric
BTW: I favour the glowing "Let light surround me" - Quote on an ash-shirt.
I'm very content with the glowing Marillion-Shirt, Jason did on freaks.

OK, I know that I'm fighting a lost battle here, but I'm going to
make one last attempt. When analyzing our esteemed percussionist's
quote, "Balls and chunk is where it's at," one might overlook it's
deeper significance.
By stating this (as crude as it may be), Portnoy professed the lack
of inclination DT has to sell out. I feel that by sticking to their
ideals, they have shown incredible strength of character, and have
avoided the tempting trap of Top 40 pop music. Even the most
marginal DT fan should be imprssed by this virtue.
Moreover, this quote is one that will not be easily recognized by
moderate DT fans, only by us extreme DT lovers. This profound prose
could only serve to perpetuate the presence of DT worshippers and
ytsejam subscribers, such as ourselves. What's more, when you see
Mike at the next show, he'll really dig it!
Is anybody with me? Please? Maybe we could make our own shirts!
"Balls and chunk is where it's at."

Michael Burstin mentioned something about a Dance Of Eternity video. I've
heard the DOE CD but I was unaware of a video from the 3/4/93 concert. If a
video does indeed exist could I have some more information? Thanks

Hey dude, if they don't get it on the first try, don't waste your time.
Anyone who doesn't recognize the true musicianship of a band like DT
during htier first listen, probably will never be converted. Also, to
compare DT to any of the bands that duder mentioned, is a direct insult
(with the exeption of Queensryche), especially the def leppard part. DT is
far above the level of many bands today, and to even try to bring them
down from that level is a shame. Just out of curiosity, what type of stuff
does this guy listen to, and has he had any experience that is music
related? A true musician shows respect for talent, even if it is not thier
preference. On a good note, I'm glad that there are a lot of DT fans out
there, and anyone who wants to talk DT, just E-Mail me!! Party On!!!

Considering the fact that they are in the studio working on the next
album, it will probably be a while, at least a couple of months.

Hey guy, send em' this way!! I'd love to get a copy of those, and the I&W
PICs also. My E-mail is gmoeglin@bigcat.missouri.edu and there is an area
where I can retrieve files sent to me from other people. This would be
greatly appreciated, and maybe someday I'll be able to return the favor.

What is the status of the shirts? I haven't seen too many more opinion
posts lately. Just curious if a reasonable decision could be based on the
voting already? If not, any status report would be appreciated! Thanks.
