This is coming from so far out in left field I'm on the warning track, but are
any of the guitarists on this list (or anyone else for that matter) fans of
Richard Thompson? If so, could you email me?

I was well aware of his reputation(or depressing lack of one), but had never
heard him until today when he was featured for an hour on the radio show,
"Fresh Air" This man deserves to be the most revered musician on the planet.

In the concert program from the Limelight, 3/4/93, where TDOE was
recorded, Dream Theater lists it as "Eve". This is reflected in the FAQ.

I've been talking with some guy who has a video of James and John P. doing
some type of little interview show where also preform O HOly NIght and some
new song that is supposed to be on the next album. The guy couldn't remember
the title of the song be he said that he thinks that it had the word "silent"
    in it somewhere.

I'll let ya know if I here any more from him.

DT rules!! Any news yet on the release of that transcription book?
Will it have all of the parts or just guitar?

The official name is Eve. Also, if Mike (Bahr) hasn't written in yet,
this was printed on the "DREAMBILL" that they had at the show where
the DoE show was tapes, and is also labeled on a semi-official video
that I have of the show (by semi-official, I mean that there is an
interview of Portnoy after the show, so they knew it was tapes) Also,
the letter that I got from the fan club refered to the "lovly
instrumental Eve" and Eve was performed all instrumental at quite a
few shows. Hope that this helps, and hasn't been answered yet.

wow, i didn't know so many of you were into dtm also! i also saw them
open for voivod (i am a big voivod fan, but enjoyed dtm far more than
voivod, since the guys in voivod seemed half drunk the whole time.
anyway, i got the promo free at the show (from the same woman i bought
the status seeker promo from) , i got them to throw it in as part of the
deal. same goes for the galactic cowboys promo. someone asked for the
    track listing so here goes:

    1. silence 3:29
    2. i will 2:50
    3. I'd love to change the world 3:01 (alvin lee)
    4. cat food 3:05 (robert fripp)

also, i have been listening to the "home sweet home" cd some more, and have
decided it is not as bad as i thought i was at first. it seems that
my taste in bootlegs has been corrupted by "the dance of eternity" i
think it has ruined me for all other boots...i also bought the queensryche
boot "end of the silence" which an avid ryche fan friend of mine, who owns
many many many boots told me was the best one, and i thought it was the
worst recording i had ever heard! I think that myself and perhaps some of
you have been spoiled by the rare quality of TDOE, kind of like being
spoiled after seeing dt live a few time, no other bands seem to interest
me anymore, i'm like "so what, they suck" to anything these days.

anyway, here is the official list of things that i think most of you must
hear, i think we should start doing this, to expse each other to other
    great bands around the country.

helstar "nosferatu" classic cd if you can find it
    fates warning "awaken the guardian" " " " " "
powermad (i like these guys, give me your thoughts!)
watchtower - really complex technical stuff, makes dt seem very normal
i saw these guys in houston once, and they played a voivod meets
dt version of all of 2112.
damn the machine - great band, except the ripoff of "natural science" in
"mission" these guys are like permanent waves era rush meets
the galactic cowboys, really nice harmony vocals, and a fresh
sound, with a different sounding singer than most metal bands,
and an awesome guitarist in chris poland. the singer is a very
good guitarist himself, playing interesting, complementary parts,
             and even playing some solos.
voivod - don't ask, just hear them for yourself, kind of a futuristic
prog/metal/floyd/rush type thing. definitely an interesting
vocalist. if you wanna hear them try "the outer limits" or
"nothingface" (any voivod boots are greatly wanted by me!!)
    cynic - jazz/fusion/prog/death/floyd ??? get that??

there are many others, but i am tired of typing...

ps. i just had to start laughing, i am listening to "skyway of nightmares"
right now, and those german guys all singing backup are hilarious,
i think some of em are better than dominici :)

The "into" to Pull Me Under is, in fact, a song... It's called "Eve"

The "lyrics" (Tower of Ivory, House of Gold...) are a poem, which Kev is
kinda fond of... If you can find the poem, you understand why the
Cow Condem was given to Kevin in the "Live in Tokyo" video...

BTW: Tower of Ivory = Ivory Tower = Good Band Name (too bad I took it, huh?)
