This is an excerpt from the National Midnight Star. It's an interview
with Alex Lifeson and let's hear what he has to say about DT...
It's becoming more and more noticeable that bands are being influenced by
you. Are you seeing this? Do you hear it when listening to music?
"Sometimes I do. Sometimes I hear some things and it makes me smile.
Our influence is more direct now than it was maybe 10 years or five
years ago, but it's still very subliminal. Dream Theater is a special
exception. They tend to sound a little bit more like us than other
bands that have been influenced by us, but, at the same time, they
really have locked into that period of our longer songs and the way
we recorded and sounded. I'm flattered that somebody would do that. I
think that they are all great players and they will develop into a
great band."
Kind of cool Huh? Lokks like the boyz really dig what DT is doing!

I had never shopped around for boots/imports until this weekend when I found
Dance of Eternity, the Majesty Demos, and Live at the Marquee (all on CD) at a
store here in Beaverton OR. I knew boots weren't cheap but this place wanted
$66 for DoE, which seemed excessive. Is this normal?

Actually...it's $15-20 too much. You were wise to inquire about
this, it's a pretty inflated price.

Subject: DT fan club.
I joined the supposedly 'new' DT fan club a couble of months ago but
still no word from them. I saw on the list that I'm not the only
one but my check has been processed a long time ago, unlike some of
the other people's. Does anybody know what's going on? Are we being
screwed over by the band or what?
A couble of days ago I went to a really cool CD store in San
Diego and I got the "Live in Long Island" bootleg. I was really
excited when I saw it that I didn;t even check for the sound quality
which turned out to be shity. The cool thing about the whole deal
is that I also bought a DT t-shirt for $15, an I&W poster and a
permanent waves Rush poster both for $5 each.

I saw Stu with Satch in '88 in a small club in northern]
CA and was TOTALLY blown away! What an amaizing player!
The highlight of the whole show (which he stole from Joe)
was his bass solo in which he played the old jazz tune
"Linus and Lucy" by the late Vince Giraldi. It was so cool
'cause with a hammer-on technique he played the bass line
the melody with his right. Sure,
lot's of guys play hammer-ons but anyone familiar with the
tune will know that this was no mean feat! 'Nuff said!
