I just saw Yngwie last night in Pittsburgh at a small club, and he was great,
but his song selection sucked! 3 old songs all night, and guitar solos out
the ass. I'm sorry, but I would rather hear the whole Marching Out album
than listen to him just play and play and play... and him with the Hendrix
has got to go. He wants to be Vivaldi on guitar and Hendrix at the same time,
I think he should lose the hendrix. Also, if you see the cover of his new
album, his face is shadowed over the whole thing, but his cheeks and chin
don't fit. This is a good thing. Yngwie is a fat bastard. His cheeks are
huge and he has 3 chins. And with all the eyeliner he had on, I thought I
was at a Culture Club show. Enough bitching, I did manage to get my Seventh
Sign (his new album) autographed, and went home with a couple of picks.
    Overall, not a bad night.

    KAI

    Hey KAI,

Your right Yngwie has gotten very large, to put it nicely. He has always worn
all that eyeliner. (It's a carry over from the eighties) You just never saw
the makeup because he was doing arena tours. He now does small clubs and
    dresses for the stadium.

It's sad to see a major talent like Yngwie do small clubs and not even pack
them. The talent that he possesses is so great, yet he is going to plummet out
of sight due to bands like "counting crows" and "smashing pumkins." These bands
with little or no talent will pack stadiums.

Lets hope this never happens to DT. If they keep in mind that a musician grows
along with his/her audience they will continue to build strength until they pack
    stadiums and such.

    Subject: Re: Mr. Studnicki

I've had pretty good luck meeting band members after shows and getting
autographs too. I just saw Dio last weekend, and got him and his band to
sign their latest CD for me. There were about 50 people hanging around after
    the show to get autographs.

I don't agree with Mr. Studnicki's comments about "pick hunters" or whatever
he called them (us). When I go to shows, I go for a number of reasons:

    1. Listen to and watch the band.
    2. Try to meet the band.
    3. Laugh at the people that look like they don't belong at the concert.
    4. Walk away with whatever I can get (picks, sticks, songlists, drum heads)

I collect picks; I've got about 40-50 different ones. Some picks I've
scrapped for, but others have been given to me by security people and
roadies. I wouldn't bother asking them for picks if it didn't work. I don't
see Mr. Studnicki's point. I think most people who want a pick would
probably love to meet the band, they just don't get the chance.

Typically, fans can only get picks and sticks at larger stadium/arena shows
because the bands are too popular. Only a small percentage of fans ever meet
those bands. When I pay $175 for a front row seat at a large concert, I want
to get as much "bang for my buck" as possible. I'm happy to walk away with a
mere memory of the concert, but I'm gonna try to get whatever souvenir I can
(whether it bothers Mr. Studnicki or not).

    Are there any other opinions?

Part of my guess would be PRICE... It seems that for the most part,

For those of you who are sorta new, there is a copy of the set list

ready, and it is on there... I am sure that Mike (Bahr) will be

Ah... I miss being in Boston 20 mins away from Second Coming... They
are a good CD show, but they are sometimes a little slow in getting in
any DT material... or some newer ones... They do have decent prices,
but not terrific... (Best I have seen, but others have mentioned
cheaper places) Also, while they will do mail order, they won't take
credit cards... You have to send them a money order, and then they
will ship your CDs once they get it... Other than that, SC is an
    awsome show...

I am not sure if the FAQ is mentioned in the inrto message to Ytsejam
(Jason... is it mentioned... you might want to add it...) Also, some
don't have access to FTP... asyou should know, since you are mailing
from AOL... I think that the FAQ should be mentioned... that will
eliminate some questions like this one...

You go in and say, "Hey, do you have any rare stuff, like, live stuff?"

Or you call them up and ask about something you know about exactly, cause if you say over the phone "Hey, do you have any bootlegs?", they'll go,"No Way!" <click>

I was just wondering if anyone can tell me what he thinks of them, if he knows them, if they are being considered for the tour, and any other related information about Psychotic Waltz. This San Diego band is like nothing you would believe. If you ever cruise up into the South Bay, Compact Disc Warehouse in Sunnyvale (on the El Camino) just started getting boots a few months ago. I've obtained almost all of my Rush/DT boots there. They have stuff from a lot of other artists as well (PJ, AIC, PF). Just 1/2 hour from you, I suggest you check it out.

I just picked up the Red Barchetta Rush boot (it says only 1K copies were released but...) today and Rushian Roulette '92 (both soundboards) last week. I skimmed through the DT section and they had WDADU, DoE, LATM and I think one copy of LOS (I bought two of these there).

Yes, I realize that, since this is a computer forum, that the population here would be more CS than anything else. However, the few DT fans I've talked to (different from "known" -- sometimes on AOL.COM, on Prodigy a long time ago, and people-who-know-people) have been CS majors. (OK -- one's a cop.) It was just a trend that got me wondering -- sorry if I offended anyone by making sweeping judgements.

Will they ever come out with a concept album sort of thing, like a story or a bunch of connected songs, with a common theme, in the likeliness of The Wall or Operation Mindcrime?

And if they're going on tour with Fates Warning, have them considered that both bands come out and do one big THING (whatever that might be)? A piece between Dream Theater and Fates Warning would be crazy. Something like "Music and Lyrics by Dream Theater and Fates Warning."

I would do anything for such a monumental song.
