I think the drums are a major problem...they make the album sound
sterile, and I think they have a lot to do with the mostly unfounded
criticism that DT sounds robotic...Mike sounds a zillion times better
live.
I&W does sound brilliant (just listened to it yesterday, with
headphones, totally engrossing myself in it), but I think it has more to
do with the arrangements than the mix. I think a monkey could've
produced that album and gotten it to sound great...but it could've been
better. The snare really bugs me.

Why not? It's the same guys making the music...sounds to me like it's
going to be even more I&W than I&W, if you know what I mean...the only
thing that bothers me is Janes Addiction...aren't they, like,
alternative? not sure I want to see DT take that route. Although
whatever they do tends to be really cool...

Well, I was just listening through some of my tapes, and copying for
various people, and came across a few different instrumentals... I
was wondering how many of you out there have found some unique shows,
with songs not usually heard...
Among them are an instrumental heard at L'Amours on 1/8/93 that almost
reminded me of the theme song from Goodfellas... A really cool little
jam. Another one was on a tape from Pe Locamotive (sp) from Paris...
As you all probably know by now, LitS is full of them... What other
cool songs do any of you have, and do any of the dates match these?

Well, again just passing along some info that I find at various places... I heard a reply from someone to my post on one of the usenet boards abiut the FW release info that I posted here, and the person, who says that they are very close to FW, said that it is possible that the new CD will be released by July 11, and is called Turtle, or something to that effect...
