I emailed Caffery about it, and he said it is coming in the fall. they are
taking a break from recording right now b/c he is a touring guitarist with
a German band called Metallium, who just released a CD in which he
produced. I also heard that Savatage was dropped by Atlantic and picked
up by Meatl blade. Also here are a few other tidbits abuot the new album:
Zak and Jon are splitting the vocals 50/50. and the album is the heaviest
thing they have done. No keyboards or piano. Straight metal. It is not a
    concept album either.

Hey, I recently found Dali's Dilemma's CD at a Now Hear This (independent
store in the mid-Missouri/St. Louis area) for $10 new. At first listen
and 1/2, Ireally dig it a lot. Love the key work. VOcals are good (Some
good hooks there), and the drumming is pretty killer. Yeha, not the best
review, but I'm not in my best frame of mind right now :). I'll give
more and better opinions when I've let it sink in a little more.

    Dale R. Newberry

P.S. I just got word that Galactic Cowboys bailed from the Cornerstone
fest (unkown reasons to me), but the goth industrial band Rackets and
Drapes took their place. It should be, well, interesting. At least
    Klank is still playing :).

Hair, hair, hair! Why is everyone so focused on hairdos? I mean, DT:s
hairdos a while back wasn't really representative of their music, by what
most people would think. Does it matter? Fuck no! Gentle Giant, Posion
Idea... no one's judged their music by their looks, successfully! It doesn't
matter what you look like, I have no problem with no looks whatsoever. Let
    the music do the talking.

Yes, Opeth is incredible. I like My Arms... also... Heavy, dynamic, melodic,
musical stuff. A great, strange black metal band is also Ulver, from Norway,
they're a lot rawer, but does also utilise acoustic guitars in a great way,
and I believe one of their albums is purely acoustic. I've only got their
Madrigal Of Night album (from 97) and it kicks God's (or Satan's, or
whomever's) ass! You'll have to be somewhat of a fan of the genre, though,
    in order to like 'em.

..Also, someone posted about setting up his own internet radio. I think the
only thing you'll need is a web server with a program like RealServer. Then
you just stream from your computer onto it and, voila, you're on the air.
The problem is to find someone with a RealServer with good capacity, and
someone who'll let you do it for free ;-)

    Prog on, people!

Maybe the "just my opinion" line tries to explain not to listen you but
after the bash I wonder if anyone will dare to buy the stuff! :)

    > but you don't need to pick up the album..

Whatever happened to democracy and brainwashing is wrong? :)

I was never a metal nor Testament fan, and I read somewhere that Alex
got addicted to jazz, and he like sold all his equipment and started
learning/listening/playing jazz. Also about Attnetion Deficit he says
that he was trying always NOT to play as he played in Testament, he was
consciously trying to move away from that state of mind and play in jazz
style. IMHO, he did a great job on that! Obviously this guy decided to
go the jazz line and left the metal one. AD is everything which jazz
    stands for.
Nearest I can describe it is electric distorted version of Black Light
Syndrome and similar to the Michael Shrieve (jazz rock drummer) jazz
    rock groove!

    I don't think there's jazz rock/fusion gang out there who'll hate this
    album!
Certainly a must check out one!

My only guess is that an old Testament fan would hate this CD!

    Hi!

Just wanted to let you know that there is a new Superior newsletter out. You can have a look at it at http://www.free-minded.de/ in the news section. If you want to get the newsletter yourself (I write one every 2 - 3 months and send it by email) just email me at basmer@med-rz.uni-sb.de and I'll put you on the list.

Another thing: I know this isn't the right place for this but maybe some of our fans are interested in this: I would like to sell one of my guitars. It is a Moser and I sell it cheap. If you want more info check out homepage at http://www.free-minded.de/ in the news section.

    Thanks

Neal is responsible for *writing* about 99% of SB's music... but from listening to the stuff on "From the Vault" (early home demos), I suspect that everyone has a hand in what turns out to be the final product.

new Tiles album, Presents of Mind, comes out tomorrow on Magna Carta

If you're the type who wants to hear before they buy, and as the patience to wait two weeks, and can acquire a real audio stream off the internet.....

a detroit radio station has a weekly show for local music, Motor City Riffs, 10 pm sundays, and on July 10th the featured band will be Tiles, and according to a flyer i got, the show will basically be playing cuts from Presents of mind....

the reason i bring it up here is that wrif has a website (www.wrif.com) that apparently features live real audio streams, so if you've always wanted to know what Tiles is all about......
