Just signed the Adagio guestbook also. That's the place we can let the band
know they have created a true epic masterpiece. Don't be shy !!

Keep in mind the guys in Adagio are still relatively 'young' and this epic
CD they put out is awesome for their time.. Symphony X has been around a
while and have identified their sound. Adagio has taken a huge leap to be
this good on their first release.

Please be sure to tune in Fri/Sat night to www.ytseradio.com because Jax
will be playing more tunes from Adagio. That will be a great way to
    evaluate more of their music.

Just a thought........hope to see you there!

I'm looking at the DVD top100 chart at CD Now, and Metropolis 2000 is
*again* at the top 1 position.

    Thought you'd like to know.

Hey! The same exact thing happened to ME on Napster a few weeks ago = with the guitar player and singer of HYDROTOXIN. =20 They were surprised to see their one CD "Oceans" on my shared list and = were interested where I was located and how I liked their music... They = provided their email addresses in an Instant Message while I was away from = home... Imagine my surprise when I got home and read THAT instant message on = Napster :) Needless to say the band was contacted through Email with help = from Lord Elliot, and now many of us on "The Black Hole" (tbh@egroups.com) = are conversing with the band members directly. It's awesome to be able to converse with band members who's music is so inspirational to the Progressive Metal scene. As a result of many fans contacting = Hydrotoxin members, Hydrotoxin is now planning on putting out a NEW CD when they = can !! The timing is unbelievable. For those who have not heard of = Hydrotoxin, you are missing out on another great progressive melodic metal CD. It = flows very evenly and melodic. =20

Just got CAB.... listening to it now.

01 - Night Splash .. this one sounds jazzy. Bass guitar is going all over the place, love that. The whole song kinda repeats itself over and over. Fairly mellow.

02 - CAB .. this one finally has some guitar distortion. Jazzy as well.

03 - So there is love .. this one starts out predominantly sounding like a GAMALON tune, and I really dig the Gamalon CDs I have. Nice song.

04 - Just perfect .. starts out great. Catchy tune. Nice guitar and keys solos.

05 - One for stern .. very repetitive song only the drums change from bar to bar.

06 - The watcher .. another jazz song. Good keyboard runs.

07 - Atamanashi .. interesting tune. Jazzy and goes all over the place.

08 - Boogie me .. faster pace song with a boogie bass line all the way through. Sounds like big band without the trombones and trumpets. Brushes on the cymbals, etc...

09 - Elastic man .. fast paced little song. Fast bass lines. Cool keyboard/guitar switch offs.

10 - Bernard .. starts out like a ballad. Picks up the pace near the end of the song.

Not my cup of tea as I prefer harder-edge metal, this one is a Jazzfest.... there ya go..

There's a decent interview with the new Angra (Bittencourt and Loureiro plus three new guys) here:

Definitely a different sound. Considering it's just a demo, I'd have to say they're doing pretty good for themselves.

    >People! Talk to me about the new Amorphis album, "Am Universum". >Do you like? Similar to Tuonela?

If you liked "Tuonela", you'll like "Am Universum". They're fairly similar (which is not a bad thing, in my eyes). If anything, "Am Universum" goes further into the 'rocking' element than its predecessor, and has a bit more sax/woodwind presence.

    >If you like Arena you may also like Janison Edge.

Agreed. Or, really, any of the neo-prog bands may work for you -- IQ is at the top of my list, and Jadis if you like them. Before you know it, you'll own every CD by every band. Discovering one leads to at least two more you like...it's a tragedy for the wallet, believe me...

Infinity Minus One Wins the Gods of Metal Battle of the Bands!!

Boston, Massachusetts, USA-based band Infinity Minus One was recently featured in a Battle of the Bands hosted by the Gods of Metal MP3.com Station and Website. Infinity Minus One received the third highest amount of votes and will be featured on a compilation CD which is being made and released by the sponsors. The band would personally like to thank each and every person who voted for them and who has given their music a chance despite being a new and as-of-yet unproven band. Infinity Minus One is currently working on new material for their upcoming CD. The first of these compositions, a piece called "Architectural Martyr", should be released to the public shortly. Again, the band would like to thank their current fans and all future fans who make what they do very rewarding and purposeful.
