Alright! Lets get the jam rolling once again!!! I
heard a new DT song called The Glass Prison (I'm not
going to say how I got it and please don't email me to
send it to you, since I don't know how secretive the
band wants to be about the new music), which clocks in
at 13:52, and let me tell you that I almost shit my
pants when I heard it!!!!!!!!!! This is one of the
heaviest, most aggressive and awesome DT songs ever!!!
They're heavier than ever, with Pantera sounding
riffs and drumming, and even sounding like Symphony X
in some parts. Let me tell you that, if the whole
album is as awesome as this song, then this will be
the best DT album ever!!!!! James sounds awesome,
even Portnoy sings on one part. All of the guys just
kick ass. Myung even does some tapping stuff, very
cool. This has everything you could ask for: great
riffs, great singing, great keys, great drumming,
great solos, everything!!!!!! I can't wait for the
    rest of the album!!!!!!!!

    Alexis

I'll second that emotion. "Callous" would be the word that came to my mind.

And I'm still subscribed, and reading.

    I'm still subbed....and I still read...and yeah...I kinda thought that
topic was a bit harsh. I may not be a fan of The Beatles...but I did
like the work that George Harrison did.....he will be missed

I'm still here. I just don't have anything to contribute. Although
that doesn't seem to stop some folks! :) I bought the TSO DVD, not
because I haven't already seen it twice on Fox Family, but to support
the band. It is exactly the same as the Ozzie Smith thing they've shown
on TV the last couple of years.

    Happy holidays,

for someone who's never seen them before though, would it be something
that would be worth-while? from what i remember hearing from everybody
last year, it depended on which touring "troupe" you happened to see. any
    thoughts??

good call coldie. i am also deffinetly not any huge Beatle fan by any
stretch of the imagination, but harrison's stuff sure had some merit.

I saw them on the first tour a couple years ago, 4th row from the stage, very cool (so close the smoke from the smoke machines they used occasionally got out to me). Didn't get a chance to see them last year as they never played in Chicago the last tour. I'd definately recommend seeing them. Don't know much about who's playing on what part of the tour though.

I'll be seeing them twice this year (by accident, but a serendipitous one!).... in Poughkeepsie, NY and Wallingford, CT... I surprised my dad with tickets to the Poughkeepsie show and my dad surprised me with tickets to the Wallingford show... heh.

I saw them last year in Minneapolis, I enjoyed it alot. It is a different type of show, we went as a family and our daughter liked it alot also. She was disappointed we couldn't go again this year. What we saw was based heavily on Christmas eve and other stories. Go if you get a chance but don't be suprised if sit by a grandma or a 6 year old:)

Should you go to see TSO? Depends on your tolerance for Velveeta. I've been to a fair amount of concerts (about 100), spanning a number of different genres, and the TSO show I attended two years ago is in strong contension for the title of 'cheesiest'. It should be noted, however, that I did have a good time, and , in the long run, that means more than anything. That said, I don't think I'd fork over $35 or more to see them again, particularly with the bogus troupe deal they're pulling these days.

Here's another X-mas tour that may be of interest to some of you.

Metal Maniacs Christmas Ball with Enslaved, Electric Wizard, Macabre, Scar Culture and Diabolic 12/5 Trocadero - Philadelphia, PA (w/Moonspell and Lacuna Coil) 12/6 Obsessions Randolph, NJ 12/7 North Six Williamsburg (Brooklyn), NY 12/8 Jarrods - Attleboro, MA (w/ All That Remains & Beyond The Embrace) 12/9 Jaxx Springfield, VA 12/10 Peabodys - Cleveland, OH 12/11 The Strand Theatre (inside Club Laga) Pittsburgh, PA (w/Penance) 12/12 Creepy Crawl St. Louis, MO 12/13 Double Door Chicago, IL [w/Debris with Ron (Trouble) and Dave (St. Vitus) - no Macabre] 12/14 Rileys Rockhouse- Aurora, IL (w/The Chasm no Macabre) 12/15 Shelter (St. Andrews basement) Detroit, MI 12/16 Howards Club H Bowling Green, OH (w/ Fog) 12/18 Reverb Toronto, Ont. 12/19 Foufounes Electriques - Montreal, Que. 12/20 The Continental Buffalo, NY 12/21 El-N-Gee Club New London, CT (w/100 Demons and Catalyst)

How sweet is that Philly line-up? Something for just about everyone. And it's under $20.
