I was there...unfortunately up in the balcony and ended up being
trampled by all the SX freaks who noticed the band was hanging out up
there after their set....Oh well, better than being down on the floor in
that mosh pit (?) for Blind Guardian. ;-)

S-X, ad naseum... OR is that S-DMX?
Alas, I must agree, I've been compelled to AVOID this years past PP Event for
the sake of economic reasons, but rest assured, I shall NOT allow that to effect
my attendance of PP v.4 (2003) so all things considered, I will be there next
year, to frolick and partake in the festivities! Yeah, F5-Rifkin did mention
something about a well-stocked kitchen with all the necessary items for some
in-house meals. Of course, WHO's doing the cooking is a point of contention, but
we'll see who and what arises...
About S-X, well... I was never a big fan, but MOST of the things I've heard
about it are quite good. You guys seem to be the dissenting opinion, BUT then
again, you know the serious individual streak in Philly. Personally I enjoy
lurking about and reading all the viewpoints, just for the sake of curiosity...
Finally, yeah! I've got most all the music done for CD#3, in beginning 2003,
hopefully the recording process will begin... I'll y'all posted like a garage
sale telephone pole 'round these parts...

Even better than that, I saw them headline in San
Francisco! Two opening bands, one was Zero Hour. They
kicked major ass. Those of us that made it there
through a raging storm can't thank them enough for
playing, after Blind Guardian's bus broke down and
they had to cancel. The show was free, due to BG's
cancellation, but SX went on without them. What a
great bunch of guys...

I know what ya mean, Trevor.. I walked out on Blind Guardian after the 5th
or 6th song.. I was giving them a chance but it just didn't happen for me.
They have great stuff, but doesn't float my particular boat.. oh well.

Ticket to Symphony X: $20

Two Beers: $5
Seeing Symphony X Live: Priceless
Seeing them for only 45 minutes because the show was on a weekday and
all-ages and they were the opening band: BULLSHIT
I can't believe my night out was over at 8:45. Still it was a great show. I
left two songs into Blind Guardian. I just can't get into
them......... Trevor in Seattle

WOOHOO! They're playing here in January with Lacuna Coil and Paradise Lost. Anyone know anything about them?

OK, off topic but hey this place is rally MORBID lately. Anyhoo, at a recent Tool concert I saw some dude with the t-shirt with the cover of the NOLA CD on it "Bury Me in Smoke". I cant seem to find this ANYWHERE .... Does anyone know how to get this ??
For what it matters, I thought that Tool suffered a lot in that there was only (normally) three instruments + vox and as such the sound sounded really thin. Cool song selection though.
Thanks, Mark Metzger
