    Hi all ye jammers,

    In the question :
    Has 6DOIT taken over nearly all of our musical multiverse ?
    Well I'd say the answer would have to be nearly ;)

    For those of you that haven't yet :
    I HIGHLY RECOMMEND "Beyond Daylight" from Vanden Plas.
    Definatly their best masterpiece yet (yes yes IMO it's even better than "God Thing" & "Far off Grace").
    Wow
    I can't wait for their tour in France.

    And while I'm here just a little note on 'The Great Debate" :
    Someone flamed it a little for the 'poor' samples (I don't remember and don't care who)
    It's my fav on 6DOIT and I personally think the samples are good...
    They represent typicaly the statements we hear from the media :
        from both sides of the debate;
        from bad to pertinent;
        from scientists to politiciens;
        And none from DT ;)

    See ye
        A carbon based life form.

    I'm one of the few people in the States who have heard the whole CD.
    (Exactly once. :)) It's terrific, and should put Superior right back
    in the thick of the pack as far as prog/metal goes. I can't wait for
    it to come out! Frankly, anyone at US labels who've heard it and
    didn't elect to carry it for US distribution is touched in the head, to
    put it politely....

    The new Vanden Plas is pretty good, but hardly a masterpiece. They seem to be making the same album over and over, which makes them barely progressive, in the true sense of the word. It's quite enjoyable, but they need to try a new things on their next album to keep fussy fucks like me interested :)

    If you want an awesome album, of true progressive metal, check out Green Carnation 'light of day, day of darkness', 1 60 minute song. A delightful combination of Pink Floyd, Opeth, Pain Of Salvation, DT and even a bit of Rush. I hope MP gets a chance to listen to them, as I think he'd really dig them.

    Hi!

    > >The trailer for our new album ULTIMA RATIO is online! > You can have > >a look at it here: http://www.ultimaratio2002.de/ > Didn't we learn the answer to that question on 9/11?

    Which question? If you wonder about the story of UR, I can tell you that we have created it already about 2 years ago! When things went nuts on September 11th we were shocked not only by the things that went on in NY but also because we were wondering if we can still keep that story alive... But we decided to do it because our thing has nothing to do with existing persons or things that really happened. And of course because it was too late already. Everything was already recorded so we couldn't change it anymore anyway... And: Our story is different. :)

    Greetings

    Is anyone in the Dallas metro area having trouble finding 6DOIT? I have been looking for it from the release date!!!!!

    I wanted to mention that I heard Misunderstood on 97.1's UnModern Rock show back before the album was released!!

    Pretty cool, huh?

    Hi Glen. I live in Fort Worth and I pre-ordered it on CDNOW and got it before the release date. I'm sure you can find it in the over-priced CD stores around town. Mine was $17 at CDNOW.

    Hey all-

    Long time lurker, infrequent poster...just curious if anyone has the 4 Degrees of Radio Edits available for trade or download. I'm also looking for some friendly FTPs (MP3 or SHN)to share live shows and other music (I have plenty to upload). Anyone?

    Regarding SDoIT: It took a few listens - which is normal for me - to get used to the new music, but overall I am happy with it. I'm *really* starting to enjoy ALL of disc 2, parts of which I couldn't stand the first time I heard them.

    Any fans of Andromeda (the Swedish prog metal band) on the list? I downloaded an MP3 a while back and loved it and finally got around to buying "Extension of the Wish" last week. WOW! This CD is really good. I tried to go to their home page and got a 404. Does anyone know their status? I know they now have a permanent lead singer and I'd love to hear some other music by this band.

    Waiting patiently for the 3/15 & 3/16 shows in Chicago, Lyle

    Okay...a bunch of you have been saying that James's vocals have gone downhill...and you all liked him better in Awake and Images and Words...I don't know if any of you read interviews or heard him speak, but he has said that he can't scream like he used to because it was damaging his vocal cords. Personally, I think he's sung beautifully in the past two albums. And how many of you have listened to Leonardo, The Absolute Man. That's a good album, and his vocals are excellent at Leonardo DaVinci. So what if he can't scream anymore...that doesn't make him a bad singer... At least that is my opinion...

    Leonardo....If only I could have stayed awake while listening to it. Sure James's vocals were fine but the material just did absolutely nothing for me. Traded it away almost as fast as it arrived in my collection.

    I'll agree with Julie on the count that his current vocal style suits me just fine. For those of you who have seen them live on this tour where they did Under a Glass Moon - does he still hit the high F in the chorus? (the line goes praying for time to disappear or something like that).

    His voice sounds beautiful, it's very powerful and very controlled, and he hits notes very well. I mean, Portnoy tries, I'll give him that, but if you listen to tracks like "War Inside My Head," it's just not as easy as it sounds. James is amazing at what he does, everyone has to admit that in one way or another.

    Haven't heard Leonardo though - is that recommended listening, or is it an acquired taste?
