He was either at the show at Obsessions in Randolph or the one that was done
at Heavy Metal Sounds in North Plainfield. Those were the only 2 shows that
I am aware of that Symphony X did on the last tour.

Where in NJ did you see them play? I think I missed
their NJ show, unfortunately, but I saw them in
L'amours at the end of the year. Had to wait through
some other less amazing bands, but it was worth it!

    Hi all!

I'd have to agree that Russell Allen is one of the BEST
ProgMetal vocalist on the planet... He delivers the goods
live, too! He's also palatable to the homophobic metalheads. :)

My short list of favorite vocalists? (Glad you asked:)

In no particular order: (with the possible exception of alphabetical)

    Ray Alder <Fates Warning>
    David Byron <Uriah Heep>
    D.C. Cooper <Royal Hunt/D.C. Cooper>
    Bruce Dickinson <Iron Maiden/B. Dickinson>
    Ian Gillan <Deep Purple>
    James LeBrie <Duh>
    Layne Staley <Alice In Chains>
    Geoff Tate <Queensryche>

    I could go on...

NP: Uriah Heep - "The Magician's Birthday"

So what does everyone think of it? I hear a difference for sure but it's never going to match the production of the other albums. Too bad One Way didn't get Broon to remix the whole thing.

I figure it won't be that different.

Did most of you order it? I stumbled across it at the borders I always go to and could not resist.

Has anyone seen the Modern Drummer with Mike on the cover at a store yet??? I keep on checking and no luck. I know that those of you that subscribe already have your copies!!

I agree with you too. When I saw symphony X I was looking forward to see Michael Romeo play, Well.....when the show started I completly forgot about the guitarist and was totaly focused on Russell Allen, I thought he was great, he owned the stage.

It's fun to espouse opinions and get feedback from those who share similar experiences (DT). That occasionally leads to heated disagreements, but that's also part of the experience. :)

It's just part of a language's evolution to end up with exceptional cases like judgement and irregardless. It doesn't make sense to say they aren't words when most everyone knows how to communicate with them and especially when they're recognized by an official source such as a dictionary. :-)

I keep waiting for someone to insist that "alot" is a word. <rolls eyes>
