    Advice is sought -

The advice being sought is what can I do to overcome a growing feeling I
have that James is just ..................what's the
    word..........bland..

On the M2000 tour I went to Hammersmith Apollo to lose my DT 'live'
cherry. I expected much (understandably I think) especially as this was
the last date of the tour and maybe a bit of variety, fun etc would be
in order. For some reason the band think that UK and Europe want to
hear all the really heavy stuff so Awake gets a big airing. Added to
this was confirmation of a sneaking suspicion...James has the stage
    presence of a nobody.

In watching videos before and since his key actions can be summed up
    thus:

    1. The hands to the sky to signify falling rain/sparrows/anything...
    2. The strange rythmic gyrations with a tambourine in hand (totally
    inaudible)
    3. The "Thank you people"..."You've been great people".."See you on the
next tour/real soon people" dialogue.the above lines seem to sum up his
total vocabulary. Call me spoiled but growing up no Bruce Dickinson a
singer/frontman is there to connect with the crowd

Please tell me I'm not alone in this growing feeling of frustration as
it was recently confirmed whilst watching a video bootleg of 'The Great
Debate' live from Beacon Theater NY..

On a more positive note I was becoming bored of 6DOIT (not a
masterpiece) when I racked my brains prior to a long car journey for a
method of rekindling my DT fire...........the solution ????????

Listening to SFAM in it's entirety..........

I'd forgotten what this album had that 6DOIT lacks....emotive
presntation, good lyrical content (and phrasing) and excellent
    musicianship...

Any of you seeking a similar re-kindling then head for "tick,
    tick..imagine a brilliant white light."

Yours sincerely and probably too honestly

    Steve

Since many folks I know won't apprecciate this, I gotta share this with
folks on here. I was at a local sports bar in downtown Albany early this
afternoon when my nephew spotted Jon Anderson of Yes in the place. Well, I
went over and said hello briefly. He was of course extremely kind. What is
special about this is that I am not someone who cares much to meet my
"idols" as I am always afraid that they will turn out to be assholes. Jon
Anderson has always been the one person I've wanted to meet, so this was
supercool. Now the best part was, we were leaving and I wasn't paying much
attention, when there he was again!!! He was sitting at a table on the way
out! I thought he'd left, and HE NOTICED ME BEFORE I NOTICED HIM! My wife
said he saw me and immediately looked at me and had a huge smile on his
face. What a kind man. I was beside myself and still am. Like I said, I
am not big on idolizing anyone, but this guy has always been special to me
    and today he proved why.

I had to share. Thanks for reading.

    Rob
