I don't know; it just appears the list is moldering
away, for the most part. So sad! *sniff* I started
in college & the list was so hopping then it was
almost impossible to keep up in digest mode. But
anyway, I just wanted to comment on your comment on
6DoIT. I don't know what it is. When I listen to it,
I like it. There is some really cool stuff on that
album. But somehow, I am not often inspired to listen
to it. When I think about popping in a new CD, that
album is NOT what comes to mind. So maybe that means
it's mediocre in my opinion too. Through SfaM, these
guys rocked my world; but 6 Degrees was okay, nothing
stand-outish. I feel like a blasphemer, since DT has
been my favorite band for years, but there it is.
That's part of the reason I wasn't inspired to see
them on this recent tour, I guess.

So, there's my not very uplifting two cents :)

Anyone ever hear of a crappy helloween/iron maiden rip off band from NYC
called URSHURAK? I saw them open for Symphony X and they SUCK and I managed
to grab one of their t-shirts and I wear it around and people are like "Who
the hell is Urshurak?" I'd be intrigued to find out if they're still
    together.

That brings another idea to mind. We should do our own "Where are they
now?" segment on the jam for all the bands and artists that vh1 will never
pick up on like Urshurak, Power of Omens, Ivanhoe, and The Great Katt.
    Where are they now?

    Chris

It's funny how things make it to the 'jam sometimes. RA, for instance.

My name's Dave and I work at a recording studio called Sound on Sound Recording
in New York City. It's one of the top ten studios in New York.

Anyway, RA was in here thoughout August. They were getting such a good
response from that radio station in Boston, they got signed to Universal under
one condition... They had to record their entire album in ONE MONTH! Well,
they locked themselves in here, bought a LOT of candles and incense, and
recorded their album. Don't worry, the guys who worked on the album really
took pride in how it sounded, and it should really kick some ass.

It was a real treat to have them in here because normally (90% of the time) we
get acts that are Hip Hop, R&B and Pop. (We're getting in Britney tomorrow, if
that's any indication. I'll be sure to confirm on her that the drapes don't
    match the carpet. ;) )

    But I digress...

I'm a HUGE fan of Progressive Metal and unfortunately, RA isn't in that genre,
nor are they DT-sounding in my opinion. More realistically, they're much more
mainstream, but they do have one distinguishing factor: They use arabian
chords in their rock songs! So they really stand out on the radio...

After hearing their songs though, I do plan on getting the album and certainly
think they have the potential to really make it in the business. They write
interesting songs with unpredictable hooks at times and it's certainly better
than a lot of the stuff on the radio.

They're playing in NY tonight and a bunch of the guys from the studio have gone
to see them, but I got stuck here working. =(

Anyway, that's it for this oh-so-wandering post.

    See ya!
