    Hey,
Since I wasn't able to make it, can someone turn me green with
envy with a review of the Pittsburgh DT show? Thanks.

For anyone who was pissed off at Mike for canceling their TV appearance,
someone on MP's message board posted abooot the interview MP just did on
Eddie Trunk's show. Here's what he had to say:

    As posted in this thread:
    http://www.mikeportnoy.com/forum/tm.asp?m=71097&p=1&tmode=1

"CBS could not handle DT's set up on the morning show. They wanted DT to
compromise and allow 2-3 members play acoustically. Mike turned down this
invitation as it was not a true representation of the band."

Here's my attempt at a review of the Pittsburgh DT show:

Well, I must say I was a little dissapointed in the DT show. I enjoyed
King's X and Joe Satriani a great deal, although JS did start to get a little
redundant after the first hour. He played about an hour and a half before DT
    came on.

The quality of DT was top notch. I thought James sounded great, and everyone
else was dead on. This was the first DT show I've been to where the mix was
well balanced. JM was loud enough for once. JR could have been a little
louder, but not too bad overall. I was dissapointed in their set. If I
    remember correctly:

    1. Pull me Under
    2. Burning My Soul w/ Hell's Kitchen
    3. The Great Debate
    4. Lie
    5. Instrumental Medly
    6. Misunderstood

    7. Take The Time (encore)

Basically, I thought the song selection could have been better and the set a
little longer. Like I said, what they played was outstanding; I just wish
they played some different tunes. Only two songs from SDOIT, none from the
second CD. Two from IaW. One song from each of the other albums.
Dissapointing. Here are my thoughts on each selection:

Pull Me Under - Great song, but heard it a million times. I used to wonder
why people on the 'Jam critisized the band for playing this song so much.
After being to several shows now and hearing it every time, I understand.

Burning My Soul - Not one of my favorites. If they were only going to play
one song from FII, why BMS? Why not bring Ty out and play Lines in the Sand?

The Great Debate - Like someone said in an earlier post, this song must mean
a lot to the band. Very well done; dead on. James sounded great.

Lie - Great to hear this song live. Once again, everyone was dead on
    accurate.

Misunderstood - Nice change up to all all the heavier songs. One of my
    favorites off the new album.

Instrumental medly - Absolutely incredible. This made up for the
dissapointing set. They played a little bit of everything. Amazing how they
can transition from one song to the next while making it sound like one song.
The JM/JP soccer thing was kind of entertaining.

Take the Time - First time I heard this song live. Jordan definitely picked
up right where KevMo Left off (Not to start another KM-DS-JR debate.) A good
    song to encore with.

Over all good show. I guess when you consider that despite the "short" set,
DT still played for about 1-1/2 hours. They still prove to be the best (IMO)
    live act out there.

FWIW, I forgot to put The Spirit Carries on in my review.
