While The Mirror was less than the ideal fan club for Germany, things have
gotten better (and will continue to do so). Unfortunately Matthias and a few
other fans feel the need to try to usurp what has already been established,
instead of trying to assist to make The Mirror a better fan club.

The sad thing is, from what I've heard, Matthias & co. didn't even make any
effort to try to help Steffen with The Mirror WHATSOEVER. I could understand
some justification for their actions if they tried to work with Steffen, and
Steffen refused or acted like a tyrant. But they didn't even put forth any
effort to do so. IMO, it sounds like there's a bit of EGO involved.

Despite the fact that MP knows Matthias personally, MP has NOT sanctioned
this new fan club as being official, and the rest of the fan clubs are NOT
supporting it. If you join this fan club, you will NOT receive the perks
that you would if you were to join an official fan club. However, it is up
to each individual to make the final decision as to what fan club to join,
    if any.

No, so in my (and every other official fan club's) mind, The Mirror is the
only official German DT fan club. Thanks.

I don't know about that. Have you ever picked up a copy of "USA Today"?

And it's just going to get worse. According to this week's Rolling
    Stone:
"Software called "Hit Song Science" is being used by ALL FIVE major
labels to help pick hit singles and ALTER NEW SONGS TO MATCH
    PATTERNS FOUND IN PAST HITS."

I used to check out Progrock.com, streaming through winamp, good selection, requesting possible with moderate promptness. I stopped listening when I realized (I should have known before...) that leaving it on for extended periods of time is costly on the bandwidth quota....

My favorite's Aural Moon ( http://www.auralmoon.com/ ). I haven't been listening to the station for a terribly long time, but it should be noted they don't seem to feature much in the way of progmetal (don't know if you're looking for 'progrock' or 'progmetal' - the two labels seem to be used interchangeably on this list). Loads of obscure progrock, intermingled the more familiar names (Yes, Genesis, etc.).

For online metal stations, I heartily recommend SnakeNet Metal Radio ( http://www.snakenetmetalradio.com/ ). Very diverse format: power and progmetal all the way to death and black, almost entirely by request. (No Dream Theater, however - they got pulled from the playlist after a handful of obsessed fans abused the request system.)
