I listened to this interview, and I don't know if it was because I was half asleep or if I did listen correctly, but it sounded like the guys from SB didn't ask Neal to leave the band. He said that it was his decision to leave because of what was going through his mind, and that he felt very bad for the guys. He said they all felt badly about it. I don't think there's any hard feelings between them. And I also don't think that the option of converting SB into a christian band was ever discussed. At least I'm clear now that Neal never said he was quitting music completely. Thanks for the link to the interview, Lisa.

You're welcome! Oh, and I didn't mean to imply that he was asked to leave
SB by the other band members... when I said he was "told" to leave, I was
referring to Neal saying that *God* told him to leave SB. Hence the
quotes. :) I don't think the possibility of converting Spock's Beard into
a Christian band was ever discussed either... in fact, no offense to anyone
intended, just my opinion, etc., but I hope it was never even *considered*
as an option.

I believe Lisa was saying that he was "told" to leave SB by God...not the
members.

I suppose that James had his great nights and not so great ones. I saw DT
twice on the FII tour in Connecticut: first on the opening night show at
Toad's Place in New Haven (Thanks again, Nicole Stachowicz, for the 100
mph drive back to Boston!) and another time at the Webster Theater in
Hartford. Both performances were quality throughout, aside for some
issues with the microphones and the mixing, which were addressed.
Electronically,
Dom

Maybe it was Ged that asked him to leave, not XoD.
