Pretty good music, but the Christian lyrics might deter some.....

"We knew that we wanted it to be a Christian band, and I loved the idea
of mixing powerful music with the positive message of the gospel of
Christ. And thus Theocracy was born."

And if anyone didn't know, "Theocracy" means a government run by
    religious leaders...
Sounds morelike "TheoCRAZY" to me. :)

And it's the f**king Apollo in Hammersmith, where they played in January 2002, and which has _no standing_ at all. I couldn't be more pissed off as this was easily the worst DT show I've been to, purely because of that fact.

Fine for a real Theatre. Not too great for Dream Theater.

    Greetings ye 'jamanoids....

Dan Costello remarked: >You guys may remember that St Anger Tribute I sent out a while ago. >Well, the guy who did that has written and recorded a prog-metal album >single-handedly (those drums are programmed, btw). Judging by the sound >clips on the web site, it's gonna be REALLY REALLY good. >http://www.theocracymusic.com/ >Sound clips are in the Discography section.

Matt also used to be a member of this list. I don't think he's watching it these days, though. I'll tell him the 'jam says hi next time I see him, though (he's a buddy of mine). You are also correct in that he is talented as hell and the album is going to rok nadz.

Incidentally, Matt estimates that the St. Anger tribute has been heard by 100,000 people by now. It was even played on a Seattle radio station a week or so ago. Not bad for something he whipped together in an afternoon. :)

    cheers, Phil

For the past year, I've had to play in clubs where smoking is not allowed. Let me tell you, it is very frustrating to have 80% of your crowd that is digging your music stand up and walk out because they can't smoke. I heard a comedian talk about smokeless bars and the quote was "Excuse me sir, I'm drinking poison trying to have unprotected sex with some woman that I don't know, would you mind putting out that cigarette?" That to me shows the ubsurdity of the subject. If you don't like smokey clubs, DON'T GO! Plus I've been to some bars where the air filtration system was so good you couldn't tell if there was smoking going on next to you. That is the solution in my book.
