Hey all, to bust some talk out of you all, here's a thought.
What track / album did you use to get a friend or anyone hooked on DT?
Back in 99 I had only recently discovered DT (funnily enough) when I saw Hollow Years on Muchmusic (canadian style MTV, dont watch it anymore) and thought they were cool. Not knowing what to expect from FII, I bought it from Columbia House and was BLOWN the crap away. Having been an alternative / punk with some metal listener before, this was COMPLETELY new to me. I also was convinced JP played two guitars (the "second one" I found out later was Sherinian). I suppose it was luck or fate or whatever that made me start with their least progressive album, maybe if I started with Awake or I&W or ACoS I would have found it too extreme?
I brought the CD over to my friend / band members and showed them Hell's Kitchen and we all freaked out together. The rest as they say, is ROCKIN! :P
