3. Has anybody here ordered the Frameshift cd? I was going to order it
from the progrock records site (or whatever its name is), but I would have
had to pay over $15 for S&H because it seems like they only ship via UPS to
Puerto Rico. Is this cd going to be available on any other online store?
I ordered it a week ago, but haven't recieved it yet.

Chambers is incredible... I had the chance to see him live a couple of times,
one time in Niacin with Billy Sheehan and John Novello.
I've also seen Weckl with Chick Corea's Electric Band, great stuff...

Please, don't be late. Children of Bodom go on second, -before- Nevermore and Dimmu Borgir, to the surprise of most of the audience here, who assumed they were going on right before Dimmu. (With good reason, too. The venue's adverts only barely mentioned Nevermore and Hypocrisy, and their website never did.)
CoB is amazing live, of course -- Janne on keyboards is worth the price of admission alone. Very cool to hang with, too, Alexi in particular.
Hypocrisy (who I assume are still opening the show) are quite good, too -- as I said, don't be late. :)

the one kez beat me to posting....pretty funny stuff....
thing is, Entertainment Weekly did their feature (long) review on Dream Theater the week 6DOIT came out....and gave it a pretty good review, too....so the band has received good notice in "mainstream" press (meaning, other than your brother's web site which has a readership of twelve, including you and your parents and any other sibling you may have) (and no, i wasn't referring to myself :)
but the world snoozes on in ignorance, alas....and we're still left with the question, which gets asked on this forum every once in a while (usually by me), how would you, as a Dream Theater fan of today's reality, feel if the band broke it in a really big way, where you didn't have to search too hard to find their songs on the radio, and you found yourself standing next to 14 year old kids at their concerts?

Hey, you, wankers. The guitar parts in ITNOG sum it all up. IMHO they stand no comparison to early leads, I guess the downfall began with the so called "deMeola Section" on Home (although SFAM is one of my favorite albums). Somebody said something like "it is difficult to listen to an entire track and love every bit of it". That's exactly how I feel. 6doit disc 1 had great riffs, but the songs were loosing themselves somewhere in/over time.
Now for the controversial opinion: I have the album for a month now and: I think the new Bon Jovi album is more original than Train of Thought
I hope I can't be kicked off the jam for that, but hey, at least they're from the TriState area as well...

I also had that problem with my DVD. The only way you can listen to the 5.1 audio is by changing it while the show is playing, not from the menu. Start the show and hit the audio button on your remote, then change it right there. Hope that helps.

It's gotta be the most backhanded complementary review ever. I kinda turned my head like a dog would. The person seems knowledgeable to an extent. Calling everything before this "pretentious and cheesy" and comparing them to Tool and Kid Rock now (which was actually a complement!), that's pretty damn funny. I can see the Tool/Kid Rock comparison though which sucks. But it is cool that they are getting something positive out of it...well kinda positive!

Sab, I really can hear that ending break of "Home" within "ITNoG" which was the lone part of that song I didn't like. I do love the rest. See, I actually like things.
Well, I decided to take matters in my own hands and did an edit of it which scaled it down to 8:17 and it sounds perfect I think. So I figured why not try it on some of the other songs. You know, edit out the stuff that was pissing me off and keep the cooler stuff. This Dying Soul was next and I edited out all the barking vocals and the wacky ending (grin) and now it's all of 5:57 in length. And yeah it sounds more like what I expect. I did a quicky edit of Endless Sacrifice and removed Jordan's cartoon piece that I thought seemed out of place and edited out some of the soloing in the middle that got a bit much for me. It's at 9:13 now so I did leave alot there. Vacant and SoC are fine as is for my liking so I won't bother them. That leaves As I Am and HTF. As I Am will probably just get cut altogether but I will see what I can do with HTF. I know this is like blasphemy and all but it's really fun to do and still make the songs sound like they flow (in some cases they seem to actually flow much better). Anyway, this is my way of enjoying the album as sick and twisted as it may be.
