Ryan Whitaker...now there's someone I haven't heard of in a while....I bought
Seven Wonders from him a looooong time ago...lots of good stuff, all the Bahr
boots in mp3 format, but a lot of it sounded sooooo awful. Sounded like
tape...played underwater. Didn't even sound like mp3 compression noise, sounded
liek his sources were old tapes or something. Did the original Bahr boots sound
this awful? Anyway....just came across a really cool band...Australian, called
Alarum. Shameless Cynic worship, although they don't mention Cynic in their
bio. REALLY well done though, check em out:

Anyone else think the new Gordian Knot is friggin brilliant?

I just got my OSI in the mail a couple days ago and I CAN NOT stop listening
to it. It's not Dream Theater, but it is the essence of old DT (at times).
When I'm listening to the first track, I can't help but think that this is
what DT might sound like today.

I'll agree with you that it's great stuff, but have you heard any
recent Fates Warning, namely, "Disconnected"?
Just curious,

I forgot to mention another album where Terry Bozzio plays, and, as always, amazingly well. Jordan Rudess - Feeding the Wheel. To the guy who wanted to listen to Bozzio stuff, that's a great one to start with, since Jordan and Petrucci play on it (Petrucci plays on some of the songs, not all of them).
Saw All That I Bleed playing live at a club in Puerto Rico on friday night, and they were great. I highly recommend you get their album Dying to Remember. These guys mix great songwriting with great chops.

Yeah, if Jim Matheos was in the band. This is Jim's baby (although with a
huge Moore influence).
However, I do hear a lot of similarities to FII-era DT.

beautiful stuff. about time someone (who has the figures & can get them
published) besides us jammers (who throw out hypotheticals w/o
credibility) gave a "in black & white" listing, step by step, of how bands
get raped by the "suffering" music industry......assholes all.
