A big question I have about concert sound levels is
why the hell do the sound people always have to keep
turning up the sound as the concert goes along? Is it
to compensate for the ringing that's gradually being
generated in everybody's ears? I mean, if it sounded
good at the beginning of the concert, what's the point
with continuing to increase the volume?
About my ear ringing, I think it's still there, but I
think I just got used to it and don't mind anymore. I
really have no idea if it diminished or not, I just
know that it seemed as if it did because I haven't
noticed it much. I just checked to see if there was
still ringing (I went into a silent room) and it's
still there, although I'm now wondering if that
ringing has always been there, or if it's recent...
One thing about it, as Andrew said, is that it doesn't
seem to impair my hearing, because I can hear pretty
well but with an additional low ringing present. It
does seem to be an overlapped noised rather than a
hearing loss. Although how would I know, since
there's no way I could test to see if I heard better
if the ringing wasn't there.
