I actually met this guy a couple months ago at the Rainbow...he STILL
has that damn mullet, but at least his ego doesn't touch the Yngwie
stratosphere. And as far as Chris Impelliteri being number 2, I can't
help but laugh at the thought of seeing him at NAMM in January, wearing
    an Impelliteri t-shirt. ;-)
OK, enough posts by me for the year...back to lurking

    They are both good.
The first one, 'Starfire' is more AORish, has a few covers.
'Worldchanger' is a lot heavier, but still retains those great
    melodies.

    Mike Portnoy's Yellow Matter Custard

For his May 17th appearance at the Modern Drummer festival, Mike Portnoy has assembled a one-off lineup of musicians to fulfill one of his dreams of playing in a Beatles tribute band. The project will be called "Yellow Matter Custard" and will feature MP, Matt Bissonette and Neal Morse.

Due to the popularity of the MD Fest, the show sold-out immediately. But Yellow Matter Custard will be playing a one-off show in NYC in order to share this lineup with the general public.

Don't miss the once in a lifetime opportunity to experience this special evening!

Yellow Matter Custard featuring Mike Portnoy, Matt Bissontte and Neal Morse Sunday May 18th BB King's in NYC 8PM show / 6 PM doors Tix will go on sale 3/14 at noon

---- The Electric Basement recently did an interview with MP, check out the link below to view it.

I hope somewhere in the setlist they put a little Dance of Eternity! What puzzles me is how god told neal to quit the Beard, but apparently the heavenly one has no problem with a Beatles cover band? :P ----- Original Message ----- From: Souter, Jan-Michael To: Multiple recipients of list Sent: Monday, March 10, 2003 3:12 PM Subject: Mike Portnoy news

They're back in the studio! Not for the first time, I have absolutely _no idea_ how they plan to top the last album... I suppose by now I should just relax and have faith.

Bear Tracks again? I think a change of venue would do them good. I think they should record somewhere in Europe for a change.

I always thought that if Transatlantic ever did another record (now unlikely), they should record it at Abbey Road.
