I would like to know where you got some of those copies esp the live
ones in California, Arizona, and Paris France. I have all the other
ones listed (except for the cd singles). I'd like to get my hands on
them. Also I was wondering how much you paid for those discs individually.
please send me info to my e-mail address which is scrivano_gar@csusys.ctstate.
(oops I messed up the part of ctstate. should be ctstateu.edu)

    Just a note on this...
Do you think it is wise to be giving out
these address without the band members'
consent? There is such a thing as privacy.
Personally, I'd be a little miffed if someone
went around handing my address to complete
strangers (though I might actually get some
mail then ;) ) There is a reason why fanmail
    generally goes to a dead-letter office -

there is way too much of it to read. If DT
took the time to read each letter that was
sent to them by fans, I'd say there would be
a danger of no new album, just because they
wouldn't have as much time to work on it.

True, YTSEJAM is not the DT fan-world at large,
but it could very easily get out to those
who would distribute it far and wide.

To whomever is friends with John, you might
consider waiting 'til the band gets back from
tour, or asking the parents to ask him
in the event he calls home. This can keep
a few people from getting mad.

Well, compared to Metropolis or Learning to Live.... I mean, you

Maybe "slapped together" is a bit harsh. The tempo is disjoint enough
so that it seems more of an instrumental showpiece than a song per
se.... Of course, it's -quite- a showpiece. :)

I have a question, from previously released ytsejams, I have found (or think I have found) that there are three unreleased songs. Bombay Vindaloo (which was later officially released on LATM), Change Of Seasons and Forever. Am I mistaken? Are there any other DT songs that dont appear on either I&W and WDADU? If so could someone list them and possibly be willing to mail a copy of them to me? I am willing to pay or trade for good stuff. +Michael 'Here before me is my soul, I'm learning to live."

I met Mike Portnoy in Albany in Oct. 1992. They played at this small place called Saratoga Winners. It was a decent show, but they weren't that popular yet and not that many people were there. I'd heard of them in Late 1991 from a friend in college who had bought there first album when it was available in the US and he told me they were going to be an awesome band. Well we all know he was correct. Back to Portnoy. He was really cool.. I also love Marillion and I asked him about the touring with Marillion since they thanked them in their album. He said the band loves "Misplaced Childhood" and the he really loved the drumming of Ian Moseley. It was interesting to say the least. Early in 1993 I saw Dream Theatre again in Poughkeepsie at the Chance. That show kicked ass. It was an excellent show and we even started a mosh for Pull me Under and that got the band pumped up. They came back to the Chance in 2 months later, I wonder if it had to with the intense crowd. I guess yes... Does anyone know when the new album or studio stuff is coming out?? I know they are still touring, but I heard they have stuff written already including a 20 minute song?? My friend heard some new stuff when he saw them this summer.. Well thats it.. thanks Matt

Favorite moments in DT history? Hmm....I won't litter the list with starry-eyed adoration, but the whole guitar solo in 'Under a Glass Moon' and when James growls 'If not today nor yet tomorrow then some other day' in 'PMU'.

Jay Beckenstein plays the soprano sax in 'Another Day'. You're saying right about now, gee, thanks, Mike, I could have read the cd booklet myself. But I don't think a lot of folks on the list know that he's the founder of Spyro Gyra. If you're an old high school jazz bander like I once was, you KNOW who they are. I'd still like to know what connection he has with the band. . .

I'm not sure how to go about editing it in, but I know of at least two tour dates missing from the list. One was June 22, 1993 in Toledo Ohio at Roxanne's. I know this one's the right date because I still have my ticket. They also played Toledo (again at Roxanne's I belive) sometime in late December 1992 or early Janurary 1993, but I can't remember the exact date.
