    Demos and CD Bootlegs:
    ----------------------

    The Majesty demos, 1986-89 (Not produced.)
    Members of the Band:
    John Petrucci (guitars)
    Mike Portnoy (drums)
    John Myung (bass)
    Kevin Moore (keys)
    Chris Collins (vocals)

    Other Demos Available:
    3,4,6,7,13,19,29-38,41,42

    A Fortune Pulled Under (USA) 1992, LP
    Need a mfr. and catalog # (it was submitted)
    1 LP Recorded in Paris, France, October 1992
    ::11,6,3,8,1,14,12,9
            It is VERY likely that this is a regional title, possibly a boot
            taken from a radio show that has been reproduced by more than one
            bootleg manufacturer. This is because another boot, "Dimension
            Shift" is nearly identical to this one, and this one is next to
            impossible to find.

    Images & Tour! (USA) 1993, CD (Big Red Records #48733-DT)
    1 CD Recorded from soundboard evaluation tapes (unknowingly?) provided
            by the band itself. Sound quality excellent.
    ::13,1,14,22,15,12,3,17,20,21,11,9
            A whole show is not included; absent is Learning to Live and
            Another Hand/The Killing Hand.

    Runes (USA) 1993, CD (The Camera's Ear Productions, #9103)
    1 CD Recorded in Sacramento, CA, USA, no date given.
            Can be distinguished by lack of good bass in the first three tracks.
    ::13,14,17,15,12,1,11,9,16
            I need to know who is vending this.

    The Dance of Eternity (Italy) 1993, 2CD (Why Not? Records WOT2014/15)
    2 CD's - Soundboard, easily the best DT boot available.
            Recorded at the Limelight, New York, March 4 1993
    ::13,1,14,12,3,17,11 ::18,9,10,39,4,19,15,16

    Consciously Unreal (Italy) 1993, 2CD

    ::13,1,14,12,3,10,39,4,9,11 ::15,16,13,6,17,3,4

    Skyway of Nightmares (UK) 1993, CD
            Recorded at Augsbug Rockfabrik, 7 April 1993, Germany
    ::13,1,14,12,3,10,9,11,15,16

    Live In Long Island: Home At Last
    Recorded at the Sparks Club, 4 October 1992

    Part II::11,15,16,19,23,24,26,28

    Dimension Shift
    Nothing known about this--seen in a magazine ad. Suspected to be the
    same boot as A Fortune Pulled Under.
    ::13,11,2,6,14,3,8,10,1,12,9

    Classics Live
    (1993 REBORN CLASSICS: RC1045)
    Recorded at Plus 5, Ft. Lauderdale, Sat. 5 1992

    A few quick notes...

    Dream Out Loud sounds remarkable similar to a Buffalo, NY FM radio boot from 5/18/93... in fact James' speech is identical... I'd say we have a winner here...

    Did DT ever manage to play Light Fuse live?

    I've revamped the FAQ for smooth, rich beer taste and informational content. I'll post up the new revision this week.

    Demetris Papallis and Aeire Lin should have been the first to get their Neil Peart Solo Montage tapes by now (if not within the next few days). How's about posting up a message telling the Ytsejammers what you think of 'em? I'd like to see how my first effort at a consolidated boot tape was received, and if it went well, I may create (and make available to YtseJam, of course) montage tapes of instrumentals, acoustic shows, and/or rare concert material.

    Rodney Smith... are you around? If so mail me, lost your address.

    I got word from a local Wherehouse store (a chain of audio/video stores in the western U.S.) that they expect a new album by Dream Theater to be on the shelves in three weeks. Joy!!!!!!!!

    I just saw this CD boot in a local store. Can anyone tell me anything about it? It's about $35 if I remember correctly.

    I'm new to the list, so if there is a FAQ or Boots list like Meg's from TNMS, I'd be appreciatin' the info.

    I tried posting this before, but for some reason it didn't work. Well there it goes again.

    A couble of weeks ago I got a letter from the DT fan club containing some cool stuff about the band:

    " ...As for the band, they are currently writing and rehearsing for the new album. They met with a few producers last week, but they have not yet decided who will produce this next album. I was lucky enough to hear some of the new material: One new song is a ten minute epic very much in the DT tradition and another is an acoustic piece that might be part of a trilogy of sorts... " (signed by Gail Flug)

    So what's up with all the rumors about T.B being the producer?

    And something else that I don't remember reading in the faq. Does anybody know how many copies did I&W sold?

    Two things: First, how do I change from digest to mail form? I know this has been answered before, but I didn't need the info then. I've tried sending a help message, but that didn't do much good (the message only said how to get the digest, but not the mail, form) Second, I'm another female on this list. There are some female DT/Prog-rock fans (the concert was pretty mixed, but it was "free" with Summerfest admission, so I don't know how many women were there because they liked DT and how many were there because it was something to do). We're out here -- somewhere.

    The galactic cowboys, to me, sound like a mix of Metallica and Kings X. and they write great songs. annihilater didn't do much for me. Especially the environmentalist lyrics. check out anacrusis, particularly "Reason" or "Screams and Whispers"

    Well, for the question that someone asked, yes, DOL is another bootleg. As far as the quality, there are a few things that I really don;t like about it... (It is a good CD, but to compare it to DoE's quality...)

    First of all, there is alot of radio static. I have a full copy of the show, and it isn't there. SEcond, they had to cut alot to make it fit. There is a major cut in the Take The Time instrumental part. They also completly cut Pup from it. Other than that, it is pretty good... although DoE is much better... I do like the material that comes with it (the stuff I typed in a few days ago) plus the pictures, and the picture on the disc itself. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | The way your heart sounds makes all the difference | | It's what decides if you'll endure the pain that we all feel | | The way your heart beats makes all the difference | | In learning to live | | Dream Theater Learning To Live Images and Words | | Michael Burstin Brandeis University | +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Let's Go Pens Let's Go Pens Lets Go Pens Let's Go Pens | +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ For info about Dream Theater, finger mikeb@cs.brandeis.edu
