Call me a cynic, but I'm having a hard time buying that this was really
from Mike. I've talked with Mike quite a number of times, and none of
this sounds quite like him. I could be completely wrong here, but
something about this post sounds *reeeaaaal* fishy.

Oh, yeah, that reminds me. I heard the beginning of Metropolis I used for an
ad for a local Monster Truck Show in Toledo, Ohio on FM WIOT 104.7 It's the
biggest radio station in Toledo as far as listeners go, but they don't play
much Dream Theater. They tend to stick to "safe" bands like Foreigner and
    Areosmith.

You're quite right, as I posted yesterday (and I hope word gets
around) a friend of mine was using my account for mischief and he is a
fan of Dream Theater. I don't know Portnoy and I'm sorry that got posted,
I had no idea it had been posted until a copy of it got forwarded BACK to
me. I spoke with the perpetrator at great length, swearing frequently.
All he wanted to do was get me swamped with email that I didn't have a
clue about, and thats what happened...

    To Kinga,
Hi! So glad to know I'm not alone out here! Yes, I get some strange
reactions when people find out I'm into progressive metal. Lots of raised
eyebrows and looks of disbelief! It's fun, though. I like surprising
people. DT has restored my hope and belief in great music from
contemporary rock musicians. I would love to see them perform live. Ah
    someday....

    Keep in touch. Deb

Okay, sorry about all that guys, a friend of mine who uses my
internet account for his goddamn MUDs noticed mail from Ytsejam, and
since he likes Dream Theater also, decided to make me the butt of a
"Portnoy Knows We're Here!" prank... that mail did not come from me nor
did I have any idea it was posted. I'll ring his scrawny neck when he
    comes home from work today.

For the record: I'm not Mike Portnoy, I don't know him
personally, and I sure the hell don't speak for him, and I'm sorry my
friend decided to pull such a blatant one... as if he didn't even know
our names were at the top of all our messages...
    >>>

Odd that he knew so much about Dream Theater's new album (at least what was
consistent with what we've heard). I think that's what would have convinced
    me....

Basically Jim Matheos IS Fates Warning... So I have a feeling he will
be. he writes most of the stuff and is one of the few original members
