Allright! I agree - I play top bass in the University of Delaware
M.Band. and I know the rest of the line and I would LOVE to play
DT arrangements! Where can we get them? Sorry if this was already
mentioned - I just joined the list.

Hi all...
Just got the new 2cd dream theater boot called "Lords of Sound". It is very good quality, apparently soundboard. It sounds ALOT like TDOE, but more like a soundboard. It actually sounds like a soundboard with a couple of ambient mics for crowd noise, like it was meant to be taped, and also meant to be heard. kinda suspicious, eh? :) anyway, it is the whole show from milwaukee '93, and is on the kiss the stone label, very good label. The cover is a shot of the whole band from the take the time promo single, i think, and the inside cover includes stills from the LiT video, as well as the group picture (not including charlie) from the wdadu sleeve. the discs are picture discs, with the take the time cover on disc #1, and the 4 square pics from wdadu on disc #2. Here are the details:
Dream Theater "Lords of Sound" 2cd-KTS 282/83
Recorded live in Milwaukee, WI USA 29-06-93
Disc One:
Metropolis Part 1 Under a Glass Moon A Fortune in Lies Wait for Sleep/Surrounded Take the Time
Disc Two:
To Live Forever/Drums Solo Status Seeker Another Day Pull Me Under Intr. Jam Learning to Live
disc one is a little bit less than 45 mins, #2 a little less than 50 mins. (none of the run times are listed for songs or discs)
these are just how the songs are labelled, there aren't any typos or mislabeled songs, except "instr. jam" is the intrumental version of eve. i believe pup, barfbag, new intro to status seeker are all on there too.
the sound is just incredible. it has to be soundboard. the drums are crystal clear, and you can actually heare each drum and each instrument in different stereo places, if you know what i mean. it is really really good. much better than dream out loud, and just as good as the dance of eternity in my opinion, but with a shorter set list of course.
anybody wanting more info on obtaining a copy of this cd, email me.
later...

hi all
i think i didn't get the issue(s) where the shirts were resolved. could someone please forward me the issue, or the post (i just know i will recieve either 0 or 100 replies :) ) anyway, i don't want to miss out on ordering my shirt, i need some info before i mail a check away.
on a side note, there are some really cool tie-dye shirts for sale out of a guy's car on the freeway by my apts here. there is one that looks alot like flames, and he said he could repeat the pattern exactly. (they mass produce em) he said if i got 100 or so of them, it would only be $6 per shirt. i thought this would be really cool to print some of the shirts on if anyone wants to. or, if whoever got the print screens made could, i would like to send a couple of these shirts to get the screen put onto, if this is possible.

Just listen to Worlds Apart on Perfect Symmetry, IMHO one of theeee best FW songs ever written... >>> I personally like Chasing Time on Symmetry.
BTW: I just got Magellan's Hour of Restoration. WHERE CAN I GET MORE FROM THESE GUYS??????
The keyboards sound a lot like Kevin Moore's, and the guitar sounds like something between Queensryche and Fates Warning. Nice bass, too. They have techno-style drums, but they sound surprisingly great. Highly recommended.

<<< Wow, A fake letter from Portnoy. Lighten up guys. I thought it was pretty funny. The only person who should really be pissed is the guy whose account was being used. Other than that, what's the harm??? I fell for it, too. I'd probably fall for it again. Besides, it's nowhere near as bad as the Marillion April Fool's joke. >>>
Well, one of the most important functions of the internet mailing lists, in my opinion, is to provide interesting and acurate information about their topics to users. These users can then spread information very quickly by telling their computerless friends. We should have a sense of integrity when we use these services (in my opinion). This does not mean that we can't have fun in our discussions, but when people are joking around pertending to be the best source we, fans who are constantly struggling for new and good information about the band, take the information on faith. Granted, it points out how desparate some of us are for information, but, in my opinion, the internet serves as a type of public newspaper (but better) which should have a certain degree of reliability.
(This of course does not mean that I think people shouldn't post without being sure of their information; they should state that they are unsure in their post, however).

Sorry for non DT related stuff, but I have a friend who wants to know if there's an Aerosmith listserv service like this or the NMS one, and he doesn't know how to find one. So I figured maybe someone here could help. If you know of any, email me directly, no sense cluttering up the list with more non DT stuff :) Thanks! Chris
