    Hi All,

Since there has been some talk about the fan club recently I have decided
to post. I just got my $16 check back from the fan club and they have
cashed it. But I haven't gotten anything from them officially yet. So
at least I know that someone is there taking the checks and cashing them.

On another note, does anyone out there lie Dio. I just got the new CD and
I think that it sucks, it sounds too much like the lastest Black Sabbath
CD (Dehumanizer). This doesn't mean I won't go see him in concert since
his old stuff is classic. Does anyone happen to know when Dio will start
his American tour? Any help would be appreciated.

    Subject: Tshirts

    Hi there,

My opinion about the T-shirts: I think, that for the burning heart
to look REALLY good, they shirts should be black (ok, black is not
very special - I have the black tour shirt with the heart - but I
can't think it works as well on white background).
The idea of the surrounded quote in glowing-in-the-dark letters
is really cool! I would vote for that.
In order to have a good looking no-black shirt, we should perhaps
leave the burning heart logo off, and therefore concentrate more
    on the majesty symbol.
But I'll take anything that comes out, anyway

    Chris

for those of you, who are working with OS/2 2.x: I have assembled the DT lyrics and some of the pictures to an *.INF file together with some cover arts. In this file you can hyper-link from an album to a song and so on. I will add the pictures that have been sent to ftp.uwp.edu and I think I'll add the comments to the songs as footnotes.

By now I have made such files for new-prog bands like shadowland, jadis, twelfth night and marillion.

If anyone of you is interested, send me a message. Perhaps I put the files on an anonymous ftp server.

If anyone knows how to make Windows :-( *.HLP files of of this, please let me know, I'm sure more people were interested if the files were in win format.

BTW: Could anyone send me the lyrics to "To Live Forever" (was that in the FAQ?) and to "A Change Of Season" so I can add them to the file?

Since OS/2 *.INF files are quite flexible, I could add sound samples to the file (wow - would this be multi-media then?) that are played when you select a title... but this is future

I don't have any specific names, and such, but I would start finding out the corporate office numbers for the different labels, and call them about your show. Usually, they're more than happy to send stuff to college radio.

    > 2) I HAVE A RADIO SHOW! Unfortunately, this is only good for people who go to > school at/near Texas A&M University (Hi Brian). It's on Cable Radio, 99.9 FM, > 10am-Noon Mondays. It's called Forward Progress. The first hour is "lighter" > prog (i.e. non-metal, non-heavy prog.) The second hour gets harder (or at > least this is my current plan.) I plan on playing DT, Magellan, Shadow Gallery > and whoever else I can (can someone mail me info about the new band called > Cathedral? and any other "heavy prog" artists?) get ahold of.

So you'd play stuff like Yes during the first half?? That'd be cool. Your's is the first "all prog" show I've heard of. Unfortunately, those here at GA Tech who run WREK won't come near anything like prog with a ten-foot pole. They won't play anything unless it's totally ecelectic or just so damn wierd that you just *can't* listen to it (like people hitting pianos with sledgehammers and screaming, and stuff like that :)

Oh well. Would you be interested in some Atlanta-are music, then??? It'd definately fit the second half of your show. My band, Early Warning, is a prog-metal band. We kinda sound like a Queensryche/Metallica/King's X cross with some Dream Theater/Fates Warning and Megadeth sprinkled in liberally. We have material that ranges from pretty straight-forward hardrock, to progressive monsters from hell :) We're not as progressive as DT or FW, but there are definately prog-type changes in tempo/time signature, as well as really good backing vocals (which is a quality that most prog bands don't have). We're currently working on a new tape (of which three tunes are done), and, upon it's completion (in two weeks or so, hopefully) I'd certianly be willing to send you a copy, if you'd like, along with our Promo Pack and stuff.

funny you should mention this... just about 2 weeks ago i got my first fates exposure and i thought that the singer would sound pretty good in DT... i still like labrie, but i always seem to think about other singers...

how about rob halford in DT? :)

There are a few things i'd like to comment on...First thing, is the glow in the dark idea. That would be kind of neat, but doesn't that color show up in light as an ugly yellowish-greenish? Also, if we're trying to keep the prices down, i don't think that would help. The second thing i wanted to comment on was the color of the T-shirts. Ash would be cool, but i think a different color would be awsome! > Definitely not a black shirt, too cliched. Ash, dark green, mauve, bluish > purple, something different. I think it's a really good idea to have dark green or bueish purple shirt. I *love* the glow in the dark surrounded idea too. Definately a great idea! As for the shirt color, I like black, especially if you have the figure oln the backkinda eminating light or something? (iether glow in the dark surrounding him too, or just lighter material color or something, as if the light is "surrounding him") And I think the Majesty symbol sopunds pretty cool too :) Chris
