I got the CD and on the back it reads "add" - which means, its NOT
    digital recorded, but digital mixed....

    Hi there,

as I said in .progressive.metal (I think) I'm about to buy the "Moon
Bubbles" 2-CD-Bootleg from Japan. But it costs 150,- Marks (should be
something about 80-90$), so can anybody tell me anything about its
    quality?

    bye, Freak

PS: Learning to live on Dream out loud is really good, I love the keys.
To bad, they cut of due to time problems on the CD....

Is Dream Out Loud a DT bootleg? I missed the initial commentary.

someone recently posted their fav prog-metal bands, and was curious about
Queensryche before Mindcrime. I have all their studio albums, and think
Mindcrime is the best, followed by The Warning (their second I believe).
Rage for Order doesn't do anything for me, unless I just haven't heard it for
    a year.

Now, in return, does anybody have a good description of what the Galactic
Cowboys or Annihilator sound like? I've heard of Galactic Cowboys, but
never HEARD them. Same with Annihilator. Please advise!

No, I'm not bashing Labrie by any stretch of the imagination. He's a
great singer (if you doubt it, just imagine DT with John Arch as I said b4,
and you'll learn to love Labrie :) And I can imagine how tough it must be on
his voice to sing that material day in an day out. Just commenting how bad
that one song was though. *shudder* :)

I have a few comments to make about some of the posts in yesterday's
YTSEJAM... when these get out, who knows, but here goes.

As far as DoE goes, I am almost sure that it is an audience recording,
and most other people have also said that... I don't quite see how
someone in the crowd can make such an incredible recording, but it
probably is audience... There are also a few parts where you can hear
someone in the crowd say something that you would definatly not be
able to hear if it was soundboard... put on you headphones, and
listen to the beginning of Forever... you can hear someone say "i ????
this song" there are several other things also... I know that I can
only hear this in my headphones... I can't hear them through my
speakers (BTW, they are Bose 301 speakers... not any cheap speakers).

As far as the ambience of some shows, I so far don;t have Dream Out
Loud on CD yet, so I can't say anything about that, but one of the
best sounding tapes that I have is from the Summerfest radio broadcast
    in Milwaukee...

Anyway, that's about it for now... Now, let's see when this acutally
    makes it out...

I find you are correct. It was liekly taped DAT off the radio.

Factors in favor: 1. The show was broadcast over the radio! 2. It sounds a LOT like Rush radio boots A Right to Passage and La Villa. 3. Soundboard tapes are a BIT hard to come by. 4. Yet, there is a depth to the guitar and bass that is not very easy to capture as an audience boot. It would require more mics than the average bootlegger could conceivably smuggle in, and trust me, I know firsthand.

It's an FM radio boot, like 99% of all Kiss The Stone CD's...

    Mike B asked about Cintron...

Well, here on Long Island he sang in a band called.... CINTRON. I don't know if they are still around, but I'll check.

Also on the subject of Bootlegs: Whenever I buy a blank tape, I pay a tax that goes to either record companies or publishers. What does this TAX entitle me to do. This could be a loophole, but I'm sure the record companies had it worded so we don't get anything in return for this Tax..

I think this info. about boots is cool!!! Please include me on any discussions of this, it is extremely interesting. As for the DT part, the first song I heard was PMU, but what really got me hooked was when I accidently put my friends tape on the wrong side, and rewound it (thinking that it was side one because the labeling on the tape was worn off), thus hearing Metropolis I, and thinking it was PMU (having only heard PMU once before), and I was totally blown away!!! Since I have heard many other DT songs that were not on I&W, and every song is totally killer!!! I have yet to find a DT song I don't like, and I hope that in the future it stays that way. I also agree with the band not releasing some of the songs they played live (ACOS, TLF) because it adds an extra something to making the effort to see them live (which I haven't had the opportunity to do yet). Also, the fact that the band doesn't want to release those songs because of the fact that it wouldn't be much of a progression musically is cool!!! New material gives them a fresh start, and that's eight to ten more DT songs to listen to, and not the same songs you've heard over and over. To sum it all up, I think thay are wise in thier ideas, and I support anything they choose to do (unless they decide to go country or rap <G>). That's my two cents for the time being!!! Take it easy fellow DT fans (including that one woman who is out there and has the guts to be the first on the list <APPLAUSE!!!>), and don't do anything I wouldn't do!!!
