    It might just be that the director's interpretation of the song was not the same as the guy who wrote the FAQ sheet. Songs have different interpretations. Each person will get something different from a song. Someone may invision the perfect video for that song to include animated chili beans with big mustaches jumping out of airplanes... who knows... but that's what makes songs and poetry so interesting, the fact that you can relate most songs to personal experiences.
