    Subject: Surrounded

Well, here's what I've got for "Surrounded"; I think it's in G, if
that helps. Comments, corrections, suggestions, and constructive
criticism are welcomed and encouraged; flames will be forwarded to
/dev/null. I've put question marks on parts that I think are wrong.

If people don't want to see discussions on how to play stuff here, I'm
willing to start a mail reflector at my site so we can keep the
    discussion going.

solo at the beginning: (add vibrato where you hear it!)

    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    ------12--------------------------------------------------------
    -7s9-----12---7s9s7--7s9-7-5---5-------9-7-5---7----------5-----
    -----------------------------9---9--5--------9---7--5-7-9---9-7-
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

                ???
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    --------------------12------------------------------------10----
    -----------5-7-9-12----7h9-7-7s9-7-5---5------9-7-5---7---------
    7h9p7-5------------------------------9---9-5--------9---7-------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    --------10------------------------------------------------------
    8-10-12----10-10h12p10------------------------------------------
    ------------------------10--------------------------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    The next two verses:
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    ---------12-12----------------------12--------------------------
    ------12-------12--12--12---10--10-???-9-(some muted thing here)
    10-10-----------------------------------------------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

"Dreams are shaken, set sirens waking up tired eyes
With the light the memories rush into his head"

"By a candle stands a mirror...
     ...let light surrounded you"

    I think there's a G/C/D chord progression of some form that I can't
    quite work out.

For the next part, I play this 4 times; there's a little something
on the end of the last bar too.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    --5---5------5--3------5----------------------------------------
    -------5----------5---------------------------------------------
    3-------3-3---------3-------------------------------------------

(I think the low G's might be played with the D on the A string; it
sounds like he might be hitting more than one note.)

"It's been a long long time, he's had a while to think it over
In the end he only sees the change light to dark dark to light..."

    ...etc...

I have a rough idea on how to play the solo - I think he's alternating
between fretted notes and open strings, or something like that. Sounds
like he plays the pattern twice, moves up a fourth (? I can't
remember?) and plays it once, moves up another step and plays it twice
more, and then plays the fill (which I am clueless about). I can't
remember right now and unfortunately I don't have a guitar here in my
    office. :)

Also, I'm lost on figuring out the chord progression and the little
fills at the end after the solo.
