Well people, I'm not sure where the idea got started that King's X and DT
are similar groups because IMHO they aren't much alike at all. Granted I
have heard only one King's X album, and I can't even remember it's name,
but I didn't notice anything that resembled DT at all. I listened to this
album a couple of weeks ago to be sure and sorry, but my opinion wasn't
changed. I'm not trying to start a flame war with this, just one guy's
    opinion.

On some other subject's I've been reading in the digest, I do believe
that it is time to stop the debate and comparison between Rush and DT.
Both are equally great bands but I think that it is a bit premature to
start comparing the two. I am a big Rush fan but an even bigger DT fan
and I hope that DT will have both the success and longevity that Rush has
had but to start an album by album comparison is a bit much. Just enjoy
it for what it is, great music by great bands!

One last thing as this post is getting a bit long, but I would welcome
the QR/DT tour if it came to St. Louis. To see my two favorite bands
together would be fabulous. I have no doubt that DT will make a great
headlining act, but if these two groups where to go on the road together,
it could do nothing but help them both. As for DT blowing them off the
stage, anyone who saw QR's last tour knows that it will take a hell of a
band hitting their mark perfectly to do that, IMHO of course. Let's all
just hope that this tour will come together.

I also can't help but wonder how in the heck that guy managed that, and
would suggest that maybe he subscribe in non-digest form, I'd rather
recieve a two page letter that's been quoted than an entire digest. Maybe
we could come up with a good top ten list with this one!

According to the circle of fifths, and the pattern of sharps and flats:
If the alphabet continued as notes progressed (Using Major Key Sig's) (i.e
    A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, etc.) eventually the key of Z Major
    would have 4 sharps.

Um, DT is a hell of a band...and they always hit their mark perfectly.

    >IMHO of course. Let's all > just hope that this tour will come together.

whatever. I still do not want to see DT opening for Queensryche...that will delay DT's headlining tour, which is what I am dying for...

I sent off my money, yep. So far I've gotten back a DT button all alone in an envelope, and a letter apologizing for the delay. Not too impressive.

It won't be during -this- tour; they're quite rightly asking us tour followers to ante up for our tickets. Every ticket is paid for -somehow-; there's no such thing as a true freebie ticket. Backstage passes, however, are entirely under the band's control and don't cost anything except cost of manufacture. Hence we are told "passes won't be a problem!" Cool.....

Metallica's fan club presold tickets to members, generally at a discount and, for reserved seating shows, front row or first few rows. It'd be great if someday, Dream Theater's fan club could do the same thing. :)

Good job with effective use of space. :)

I agree with your analysis of the singers Geddy and LaBrie with only one exception. That is your small comment on the diction of LaBrie. I wass wondering if this analysis came from an linguistically sound analysis or from comparison with your individual dialect. I personally have no qualms whatsoever with his dialect.

Since some people asked, I'm posting the fan club's address:

Dream Theater Fan Club Midtown station Box 1188 New York NY 10018

This IS the real fan club, since I've already received a couble of letters from them, and they said that there should be a package coming out preety soon. People who joined when the club was first made, became automatically charter members, but I don't know if you can still become one. For the time being there are no special privilages for the charter members, but from what Gail said when she called this should change, once the club gets more organized. Better send in those $16 preety soon guys!!!
