Kudos to Bret and others for putting together a dynamite premiere issue of
PROGnosis magazine which features Dream Theater on the cover with an
excellent, well-written story. It also covers Dixie Dregs, Progfest, and
Cairo, among other bands and news... a must for all DT collectors -

Heh. They had to stop the vocal track after every line he sang
because he couldn't keep it up. So he was an ok vocalist for
demo purposes, but as a performer... that would`ve been impossible
for him. And he was alcoholic, too. How did John P. put it? "He
had too much of a liking for whiskey." or something like that.

    Yeah Phil,

I agree totally! It's people with these short attention spans that really piss me
    off sometimes.

Why is it that every time I try to crank up the GOOD music, everyone else wants to
listen to dance ( :-<> ) or cRAP. I feel it's music like this that is turning the
listener's brain cells to a numb, stringy, useless rope-like connection that is content
with the mainstream, go-with-the-flow type of (music?). It's not really music!!

I also have a "Lost-In-Space Gator", who is not using the majority of his brain, that
seems to think that that country singer with the southern twang is actually making
    something we all call MUSIC.

He's just lucky I haven't heard him playing that crap on my stereo!

I don't know if my previous post on the topic made it to the net,
but I will be able to make the WDATU (When Dream And Today Unite) CD's
around February or March. I will have full time access to a quad spin
audio CD burner. Cost will be around $25 per disc. I will include as much
    as 75 minutes will hold.

I make this offer because I will already be burning CDs of all
the shows I capture on minidisc. So it will be just one more disc I can
    make available...

Wach Auf litterally means Wake Up... :) I wonder why they put two other
DT non related bands on the cd though. Weird people over there in
    Deutschland. :)

Thats exactly how I feel... it's horrible. The mindless teens of todays
youth. At Best Buy JUST today I was reminded of this. See in the speaker
room you can select from a list of CDs to play, and I was playing Yes.
(No other prog. grousp, cept Live, if you want it call it progressive)
Anyway I was standing over the thing where you pick the cd, and this
dumbass kid walked right up and hit the Stone Temple Pilot CD picture
and started playing it. It really pissed me off.

Tell me... I'm not a professional singer or have never had lessons... but
I can match JL's pitches on the LATM version of that. I can't sing as
loud as he does, but I can get there... can you? (With your training?) I
can succesfully sing all of DTs, FWs, and QRs songs that I've heard, all
exactly on pitch and in the correct octave. I can also sing quite deep
too... were you at this level when you started? What i'm trying to ask is
this: can almost everybody do what I do? I don't really know any singers
or anything so I can't judge myself with other people.

Simply because that is what my cost will be... I'm not EastWest
records, ya know. :) Counting the CD, burning it, doing the jewel box,
and printing liner, and mailing cost, will bring it to a total of
something like $18, plus $5 toward the cost of paying off the CD burner
(this is a requirement I have to adhere to in order to be able to use it)
and I get a whopping $2 for my trouble... that's less than minimum wage!
The reason I would do this is because I personally want to see it happen
as much as the rest of us here on Ytsejam.

Great! I'd like to have a copy. Are we going to have a sign-up list?

And since I'm posting here I might as well get something else of my
chest: I know this will come as a shock to many of you (and you will
probably consider me a blasphemer) but I am not really as impressed
with SDV as most of you are. I was wondering if that's just me or is
there anybody else out there that feels the same way. Don't flame me
for this. It's just my opinion; no big deal.
