According to the circle of fifths, and the order of sharps and flats:
If the alphabet continued as notes progressed (Using Major Key Sigs) (i.e.

Hey, I don't follow the 'Ryche chatter, so this may or may not be common
knowledge by this point, but I went to see them last night, and if you
haven't seen them yet, do so. They do the strangest/coolest thing I've ever
seen at a show during the song 'Promised Land'. I won't say anymore.
As an aside, if you can, try to cough up a few bucks for the Red Cross. The
Oklahoma bombing really got to me. 1-800-HELPNOW.

Yeah, Hot Sticks are crap, and one YJammer skinsman recommended some
brands, like Vic Firth, Pro Mark, and others. But to all you drummers
out there. I found a pair of sticks that are really cool. And I never
guessed that ZILDJIAN made sticks, and damn good ones!
Sorry 'bout the lack of DT content. I think this one offense is
excusable since I've been pretty good about it.
BTW, I'm actually a guitar player, but I do indulge in the drums every
once in while. I'm somewhere closer to Phil Rudd's style than
Portnoy's, but I'm having enough trouble as it is with the guitar and DT!

Crack The Sky is basically a Baltimore band and hence get
a lot of airplay around here. but the only airplay they get are
from their first 2 albums which I think are their only good ones.
I have the cd which combines both albums:

the best tunes from there:surf city/she's a dancer/skin deep/
all american boy/hot razors in my heart
not exactly progressive music, kinda reminds me of the cars.

Hadn't written in a while, so, I decided to drop a little note to everyone.
I helped my g/f move today. Wasn't godawful, but, I hate moving stuff.
Especially up stairs with a hand cart.
Good news/Bad news:
Good News:
I got hired as a board operator at the radio station I was an intern at!
This means that I get to push buttons from 12 midnight to 6am. I don't
get to talk yet, but, I might. <crossing fingers>
Bad News:
The Music Director returned my "Silent Man" CD single to me. It never got
on the air. He said, "It's a great song, but, nothing ever happened." Oh
well. I tried.
Music:
1) Does anyone happen to know what suburb of Philadelphia Echolyn is
from? I still live here, and would like to know why I never heard of them
until you people mentioned them.
2) Spruce Street Revival (my band) is still at it. The demo is coming
along fine, but, I have A TON of work to do on this puppy before it gets
out. Gag. And I have a final project for my film/video editing class.
But, Hey - I'm a senior, and I'm gonna graduate. Cool enough. =)
3) Kansas - I heard from a very reliable source that Phil Ehart got
married and was no longer touring with the band. He would, however,
continue to record and manage the band.
And someone call me if they do Incommudro - Hymn To The Atman. If they
do that, I'll consider going to see them. Until then, I'm skipping the
shows...unless, of course, they come to a bar within walking distance to
my house and I can get in free. I'm sorry, but, "Whiskey" just turned me
off to the current version of Kansas. At least we still have all those
great albums to listen to.
Sorry if I've stepped on toes, but, that's just how I feel.

Well...I see that since all of us like Dream Theater's music, then we can't
like anything else that isn't immensely complex and has a million time sig
changes in it?! I wouldn't call industrial dance "crap," nor would I call
any of Kev's demos industrial dance anyway, with the exception of that one
song w/ the harmonies in it. We knew Kev's style was changing. I don't
know exactly what you expected, but I don't think you have the right to
advise anyone else not to listen to his demos just because you don't like
them, you know? If you think that no one on this list listens to NIN,
Ministry, Lard, Consolidated, or other industrial dance stuff just because
Dream Theater is nothing like it, you are sadly mistaken (Unless I''m the
only onee, that is. but I don't think I am). Anyway, I really couldn't
see myself DANCING to any of his new stuff(except for that song, again).
Could YOU dance to "Normal Words?" I sure couldn't. And "Hollow" sounds
like a straight ahead rock song w/ some piano at the end of it, but hardly
industrial. Besides, remember that these are DEMOS and Kev is just
beginning to find his style. Just my $.02. I just think that it's unfair
to influence the other people on this list and just let them decide for
themselves. It's free anyway. THIS IS NOT A FLAME!!

Thought you might like to know...
The FCC released a warning last Wednesday concerning a matter of
major importance to any regular user of the InterNet. Apparently, a new
computer virus has been engineered by a user of America Online that is
unparalleled in its destructive capability. Other, more well-known
viruses such as Stoned, Airwolf, and Michaelangelo pale in comparison to the
prospects of this newest creation by a warped mentality.
What makes this virus so terrifying, said the FCC, is the fact that
no program needs to be exchanged for a new computer to be infected. It
can be spread through the existing e-mail systems of the InterNet. Once
a computer is infected, one of several things can happen. If the
computer contains a hard drive, that will most likely be destroyed.
If the program is not stopped, the computer's processor will be placed
in an nth-complexity infinite binary loop - which can severely damage
the processor if left running that way too long. Unfortunately, most
novice computer users will not realize what is happening until it is far too
late.
Luckily, there is one sure means of detecting what is now known as
the "Good Times" virus. It always travels to new computers the same way
ina text e-mail message with the subject line reading simply "Good
Times".
Avoiding infection is easy once the file has been received - not
readingit. The act of loading the file into the mail server's ASCII buffer
causes the "Good Times" mainline program to initialize and execute.
The program is highly intelligent - it will send copies of itself to
everyone whose e-mail address is contained in a received-mail file or a sent-
mail file, if it can find one. It will then proceed to trash the
computer it is running on.
The bottom line here is - if you receive a file with the subject line
"Good TImes", delete it immediately! Do not read it! Rest assured
that whoever's name was on the "From:" line was surely struck by the
virus.
Warn your friends and local system users of this newest threat to the
InterNet! It could save them a lot of time and money.

Just thought I would offer an updated list of tab

the jammers. This is far from a complete listing - it only

Any additions are invited, as they can make for a more complete

Actually, I don't agree, entirely. I _thought_ it was going to be all
techno/dance/rave 'beat' stuff when I heard it described as 'industrial
techno'. Although, when I got my tape (thanx Jen!), I was suprised (in a
good way). Sure, it's not all wheely, pitch-bending soloing (in fact,
not at all), but it's definately NOT all right handed dance music. Songs
like Nora and Even_The_Waves will attest to that.
Kevin will still remain a hero to me, for what he's done, and for his new
direction. But I think that keyboardist from Black Jester will share the
tandem spotlight with Kev as my new hero. All I gotta do now is find a
copy of the disc!

Hi all-
No one is going to believe me when I tell you Russ fans out there what he's
doing now, but here goes. Russ Parish is currently in a Cleveland based band
called Outta the Blue. They combine very tight vocal harmonies with a very
thick and proficient musical style. Sort of like Kings X meets the Beatles.
They are very good. I'm not just saying that because Russ is in the band.
They should be signed right now. IMHO Russ isn't the best guitarist in the
band. The other guitarist Mike Zeuter (sp.?) is a little better. Last time I
checked, they were recording an album. They were going to go to California,
but I don't know if they made it.

Tonight a bunch of my friends and I went to this shitty concert at the
Alarossa Villa. All of the bands really sucked, but the second one was ok.
About halfway through their set they said something that sounded to me like
"Does anyone out there like Free Beer?". They really said "Does anyone out
there like Dream Theater?". After that they went into a rendition of The
Ytse Jam. They did it pretty well. In my mind, that makes them good instead
of really shitty.

To all those people who doubt that Mike POrtnoy does not use Hot Sticks.
Why dont you go pick up an issue of modern drummer and look at the little
Hot Sticks ad!! Low and behold it is a picture of Mike Portnoy!!!! I also
read that he plays with the but end of one of his sticks!! That might prevent
some of the breakage!! Also, some people break sticks constantly because they
don't hold the sticks right!!!! Besides, why would Mike Portnoy endorse one
product and use another!!! He gets them for free why should he care if they
break!? Just a few observations.
