According to the circle of fifths, and the order of sharps and flats:
If the alphabet continued as notes progressed (Using Major Key Sigs) (i.e.
    A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, etc.) eventually the key of Z Major would have

For any of the islanders out there, someone told me that somebody from DT
worked at Music Den in Commack, is that true? That store is really good,
I've bought all my DT stuff there and they've got a better selection than
most stores. Oh, here's something cool too. I know this kid who's a DJ,
and he said he was working on a Kings Park High reunion for the class of 85,
and someone gave him a tape of Pull Me Under and asked him to play it. They
told him that JP was there and he got to meet him and get his autograph.
How fucking cool is that! Just thought I'd share that with ya. Later.

    Something short for a change.

Have any of you idiots who've just felt compelled for whatever reason to
flame the list, and bitch and whine about the content ever stopped to
consider that it's just as annoying to get a jam filled with 15 idiots
whining about the lack of DT content, or that "The list now sux", than it is
to get a jam filled with all kinds of irrelevant religious debate?

I'm a hypocrite for even writing this mesasge, but I don't see any other way
to make my point other than e-mailing all of these whiners individually (no
thanks). In conclusion: STOP THE WHINING FOR FUCK'S SAKE! If you don't
like the content, unsubscribe, or don't say anything. Just accept the fact
that every now and then an off-topic thread will arise, that -someone-
inevitably won't like. I think there are FAR more off-topic messages
generated by messages like this than there are by other things that at least
    stem from something DT related.

    Hi-diddely-ho Jammerinos,

Ok Mike Bahr, I'll get off my lazy backside and post something. :) I just got my long-awaited AD #393 yesterday (12/4) and it sounds great! Thanks. And a Magic card to boot - Woohoo!! Now all I need to do is find out what the heck this "Magic" thing is ...

I heard Ian Anderson doing Bafu's -er- BACH'S Bouree in Em.

Does anybody have any idea why DT hasn't made a big official release of "O Holy Night" yet? If DT wants 'to live forever', that seems like a good way to go. What I'm thinking of is Billy Squier and his "Christmas is a time to say I love you" tune (it's on the radio now). Billy seems to have gone away, yet the radio stations seem to love that and other similar songs come December, year after year. I think a Subcon style studio recorded OHN could be a huge radio hit and introduce them to a lot of people! How about a whole CD of xmas songs done by metal bands? :)

I'm 92.7% sure I'll be at Birch Hill - see ya there!

--Fates can be slightly more mellow than DT, but Zonder is a --drummer who's up there with Portnoy,

Zonder is subtle but I always thought that ZOnder was better than Portnoy. Portnoy is amzing yes but after listening to No EXit, shit, I gotta say that my vote goes for ZOnder. Its the way he plays, I mean, He's doin one beat with the double bass drum and he's got some funky thing goin on with his snare and the ride cymbol is goin crazy. Zonder to me, is a busy drummer.

though his style is more --subtile. The twin guitar leads (esp. on ||s) are really --fantastic---- a Fates trademark.

The twin leads, well, Fates warning has constantly reminded me of Iron Maiden, and I think that FW's twin Leads are Dave Murray and Adrian Smith on guitar steriouds. Technically, Fates Warning are smarter than Maiden(ouch, that hurt to say that) but I think Maiden, for them, its a style thing, kinda like the Rolling Stones have style for makin rock and roll what is (with help) but Maiden is kinda the Rolling Stones of twin harmonies, FW is a contuation of what Maiden was doin, way back when. Still, both bands kick major ass(new maiden fuckin smokes)

I think Fates is one of the --best bands that never hit it big, for some reason. I'd put them --on par with Queensryche.

I'd put FW with DT, just not makin it big, unfortunate but hey, none of these little teenager dudes want the operatic vocals or the 8 to 10 minute long songs, they want this Punk and new wave bullshit.

    thats My $28,729,402.12

Does anyone know if there are Sites to get FW or DT bass lines on the web? and has anyone seen or know of any maiden Bass sites, not guitar, Bass.

+++Shit. I promised myself that I wouldn't join in on theological discussions. But since I just wrote a paper on the subject, I can't help myself. Mike, I'm only going to say this once: spirituality DOES NOT equal belief in God. It can take that form, but it is not a necessary relationship. Hinduism, for example, does not believe in a God in the western sense, yet I would hardly call these people devoid of spirituality.

    > 2. Mental/Emotional - We need to mature as we grow older, become less > "me" oriented. We are all preoccupied with ourselves from birth, > change my diaper feed me etc..) We need to learn mental disipline > and consideration of others needs. We go the schools of higher > learning so we can become viable contributers to society and become > gainfully employed. During the process we hopefully learn that > Love is life and hate is death. Learning to Live, have you heard > that song? :) > +++I'm a bit confused with the Love/life and hate/death point. Explain yourself.

    > 3. Spiritual - This is an area a lot of people overlook. We by nature > are spritual beings and have a need (though some of us suppress it), > to understand life beyond the natural. The natural being what we > can hear, see, smell, feel, and taste. The easy thing for us to do > is to ignore the signs that there is a God, but if you look and not > to hard they are very obvious.

+++This is exactly what my paper was on. First of all, when dealing with God, there is no such thing as objective proof in either direction. It all depends on whose doing the looking. One man's miracle is another's cosmic coincidence. Confirmation comes too easy for relgious theories. Religion does not limit what can and can not be attributed to it. Everything from a promotion to a miscarrige can be attributed to God's punishment or reward. If a believer in any broad discipline (astrology, Marxism, etc.) can open up a newspaper and explain every event in terms of his given theory, how seriously can we take the theory? It is not the confirmation of a theory which attests to its accuracy, it is its ability to be refuted. What I mean by this is that if there is no way for it to ever to be proven wrong, short of God himself coming down and stopping by for a slice of pie, it is no longer a theory but an opinion. And the nature of opinions dictate neutrality. In short, one can equally argue that it is hard to dismiss all the "evidence" that there is NOT a God.

+++I'll say it again, why does God have to be that higher power? One might make a very good case is that higher power can be found within yourself.

"The line between winning and sinning And preaching and teaching Is as thin as the horizon." -from a song I wrote called "Hell It Is." Don't even think about ripping me off, I'm protected :) (as if anyone would want to anyway).

Me too. But being the polite person that I am, let's hear what you're sick and tired of first.

    > Last but not least I'd like to tell you that Ytsejam is the only mailing > list that I am still not unsubscribing from after weeks of such intense > output. I'm not quite following you, Richard. Are you saying that Ben and I add to the shortness of the Ytsejams and make it a more digestable digest, or that we make it too long with our intense output?

    > To Michael C.: > > I don't believe in god or any god for that matter, and I have valid > reasons for that.

You don't believe that John Petrucci exists?

    > It sounds silly to say "buddha, that music sucks".

Considering that there are parts of the world where religious blasphemy will get you killed, yeah, it sure is silly. Ha ha ha.

    > You're like a jack-in-the-box, popping up to defend christian morale

    That's "Ytsejack-in-the-box."

    > Don't you realise that you're predictable and boring?

Hmmm...if I'm part of the problem like Michael Coghlan, am I predictable and boring too? Is Ben Laussade predictable and boring?

    > Gee, man, if only your signature was at the beginning of your messages > I'd know what to skip right away.

Hence the reason I have no signature. I am the Stealth-Jammer.

    > You always go on about the fact that we ought to respect your opinions > and beliefs, and we do.

As evidenced by your post in praise of Michael Coghlan.

    > Why do you think people who say rather un-religious things have any need > to hear what you think of it?

I can't resolve this one. I try not to mess with that "thinking" stuff. I mean, if I were to question the need for my posts, I'd probably end up never posting at all.

    > Some people wear flares, some don't.

Yeah, I used to do that. Until my body suddenly burst into flames. Then I stopped. (actually, I joined Ytsejams, where my opinions burst into flames instead)

    > This is not the Godjam or anything.

I think you're right. Michael Coghlan never mentioned he was in a band called Majdog...

    > If you're right about all this I will fry in hell.

Right alongside Jeremy Haynes, Susan Moscardini, and Jeremy Moscardini.

    > Most likely, we are both wrong and I will fry in hell *and* you will > actually turn out to have lived your life a silly person.

*And* you'll end up at the pearly gates and find out that Michael Coghlan is really St. Peter. Boy would that suck...

    > Then again, who am *I* to say this?

You're Richard Karsmakers, 1 Ytsejammer out of 1200, 1 Internet-user out of millions, 1 human being out of billions. If everyone questioned their statistical significance, no one would say anything.

    > After all, your opinion is as valid as mine. Just keep your opinion in > non-DT related matters *off* the flipping Digest! I can assure you I > will keep my non-religious opinions off the digest in the future, too.

Yes, please keep your non-religious opinions off the digest. We only like religious opinions to be posted here.

    > Surely, not a soul is interested in it.

    (raises hand) MEMEMEMEMEMEMEME!! I'm interested!!

    > It's just that I was almost getting angry because of all that > self-righteous condescendence. I had to write this and shoot my load.

"Almost" getting angry. Whew! I for one am glad that you didn't get all-the-way angry, as it probably would have been a really spiteful post. In fact, it probably would have hurt someone's feewings...
