This is just a little tidbit I noticed, but a friend of mine has the kids game, Superkarts, and the default player name for one of the guys is.....Kevin Moore! Imagine that!!!

This is in responce to someboby's idea (sorry I forgot who) but I think a "When Dream and James Unite" album would be cool!!! What ever happened to Charlie anyway?

Hey, folks, after freaking out when I read DT were coming to NY and were sold out, I called the friendly folks at TicketBastard--here's the story. June 9 is in NJ, June 12 (or 13?) is in Long Island at the Malibu something or another. Both shows are NOT sold out. But, there is no scheduled show in Manhattan! So, that's the story, as far as I can make out. Later kids!

    Dario

PS Hey, BABS, is there anyway that we who can't make the big ytsecon can get signed paraphenalia, possibly that special badge you were talking about? I'M GOING TO SEE KING CRIMSON!!! (sorry, had to get that off my chest--however, I am having surgery on my wrist the day before, so both my air and real guitar will be compromised for a while (not to mention other things, ahem)) Enjoy the convention, everybody!

    Hello fellow jammers:

Well, this is my first post, so I hope I make it worth your while to read it! First of all...gotta say that the jam has been excellent for info and a joy to read...thanx to all of you who post! Anyway...I subscribe to Images and Words the official fanzine listed in the Awake jacket. I have been corresponding with Neil Elliott (the editor, who obviously keeps in touch with the band) for some time now and I just received my copy of issue #6 yesterday along with a letter from him. Id like to quote part of the letter:

As for the EP, well ACOS is being recorded, but the two new tracks they were going to do as well at the same time, ran into some Record Company political bullshit, and financing was only given for ACOS. From what I understand, it will be put out sometime with a few tracks from the Ronnie Scotts show, plus possibly Eve, and the demo version of To Live Forever. Again not definitely confirmed.

Thought you all would like to know that. What I wanna know is what are those other two tracks?? Anyone know??

In I&W #6, it mentions that some of the Ronnie Scotts tracks will be on the 2CD set single (from the UK) for Silent Man. Has this been released yet? Anyone know? (For those of you who do subscribe to I&W, the photos of Mike and John M on the back cover were taken by me during a "music clinic" back in Jan of 93.)

Also, I just received a message back from Ties (who posted about the Duesseldorf broadcast) and I found out that unfortunately, its not the entire show...anyone have or know of an existing copy of the entire show that was broadcast? I know someone who has an audience tape of the entire show, but I gotta think (at least hope) someone has the entire show from the broadcast.

Okay one last DT question...any ideas as to what happened to Only a Matter of Time on Lost in the Sky? I know it goes from SB to audience DAT, but what happened to that part of the show on the SB tape?? And one last quickie: thanx for posting the QR set list for this leg of the tour...does anyone know what the complete set list was for the Astoria show (parts of which are on the 2 CD singles for Bridge) or any other European dates from the Promised Land tour?? Please email that to me personally (unless everyone else wants to know as well) and also the set lists for the Empire tour if you know them. Thanx.

Sorry for the long posting (hope I havent pissed anyone off)...Ill go back to lurking now...bye!

Hey everyone, haven't been able to get on the computer since last Wednesday, so I've got some catching up to do. I was supposed to see the Queensryche show in Sacramento on May 13th, but is was cancelled, and I couldn't make the rescheduled show, so I went down and saw them in San Jose. As you all know, that's the show that was broadcast on the radio. Holy shit was that show awesome. To the other Steve Z. on the 'jam who said Tate has lost it: You must be trippin'

Now that's the first time I've seen them live, and maybe he did have a bad night, but I'll bet most singers wish they could have a bad night like that. I've got several DT boots, and LaBrie definitely has his share of bad nights. DT is by far my favorite band nowadays, but LaBrie's vocal work does leave much to be desired at times.

Anyway, if anyone made a good tape of Queensryche's San Jose show off the radio, I'm very interested in getting a copy of it. Thanks in advance. Oh, and to Steve Z., no hard feelings. How could I possibly be down on another DT fan, much less another Steve Z.

I think you have this a little backwards..they are playing June 9th in NJ, and June 13th in NY. My ticket for the NY show says the 13th...unless they have changed it...i hope not but let me know if they did. Thanks

Thanks to all who posted answers on the ending of PMU, although no one has said WHY? or if there is a WHY?

On the ending of PMU and the Beatles 'I want you' someone said something about some of the Beatles' music being 'progressive'. I would agree, and would further add that IMHO, progressive music really is a continuation (progression) from the late 60's early 70's psychedelic rock. King Crimson, Moody Blues, Yes and ELP would be good examples of bands that grew directly out of that milieu.

On King Crimson being 'experimental' Although, because of $$, I've heard Thrack yet, KC has always been an experimental band. Fripp and friends always border on the unusual. Belew came from the T' Heads, Bruford from Yes, Levin, an unofficial part of numerous bands, including ABWH, Yes, Peter Gabriel, etc. On funk, Levin, has always played a good funk bass.

Again, a 70's progressive band called Triumvirat played a piece called "A day in the life" totally un-Beatles. The band feautured a German 'Keith Emerson': Fritz Jurgen. Has anyone heard of them, particularly you European Y'Jammers? Also there was a very DT-like English band called Nektar from about the same time; they recorded in Germany, and unofficially included the period synth wizard Larry Fast. Just thought I'd ask of anyone else has head of them.

As for what I play: I'm trying to learn on a Hondo Professional II, old, but well-made. I got it from a friend (also a DT fan) who now plays an Ibanez and a Gibson (not a Les Paul), plus a very expensive flamenco sp?) guitar (he taken from one of the best flamenco guitarists in the world). also many years electric experience now taking jazz-rock from a Vai advocate.

Hello to all jammers. I haven't posted for a while, and its good to be back. First of all, I would like to than Mike Bahr. Mike, I got SUBcon a while ago but I haven't gotten a chance to write the jam about it. Than a million, man, can't wait for CYGNUS and WD&JU! Well, I've been listening to Awake *A LOT* lately, as well as SUBcon and a lot of the boys' live stuff. But last night I put Images & Words in for the first time in what seemed to be AGES! MAN! It fuckin' blew me away! It's been way too long! I make a formal apology to all of you DT disciples for not listening to I&W more than twice every 12 hours! I beg your forgiveness. Anyway, sorry if this bored you, but has anyone out there had this problem?

it is a pic of me (looking like an idiot with both a dt hat and a yj shirt) :) backstage with eddie jackson of queensryche in tuscon, AZ. the bonus we got for our 3600 mile qryche road trip was these backstage passes, as well as pre-show meet n greet passes for phoenix.

anyway, just thought some of you might get a kick out of the picture. please, no "you're ugly" flames :)

I play guitar and drums, though neither that well<G>, and I must admit that both John and Mike are truly the best! The things they can do just blow my mind. All the guys in the band are that way. Is it just me or did Mike use triggers on his drums during I&W? Every snare hit sounds the same. In Awake there seems to be more variation to the hits... Just a question.

All three of their albums stay in my CD changer on a daily basis. I also bought a new (for me that is) live album, "Skyway of Nightmares". The quality isn't the best but it's still DT. It's got all the I&W songs plus "Fortune In Lies" and "Ytse Jam"!!

When Dream and Day Unite is REALLY growing on me. At first I didn't like it coz of the quality and (sorry) the singing. Almost to 80s... But now I can hardly stop listening to it!
