    Hey all,
I was just talking to my friend Zach (who works in a music store
as a music buyer), and I asked him about the Awake tab book. He says
that: "it's not available yet. Period. There's no confirmation date on
the release." I'd be very interested in knowing where whomever got his
copy got it from, since Zach talked directly to the guys at Hal Leonard
and Charles DuMont & Sons, and they don't even have a catalog number
yet. The catalog number usually preceeds a book by about a month.
    What's up?
Incidentally, Zach and I would give the aliens the solo
(instrumental) msection from Under a Glass Moon since it shows diverse
musical styles, complicated time sigs, and melodic and harmonic compositional
skills (they can write a tune!). How's that for a cool forty-five second
    blurb?!

Whoever asked about me assisting with running DT's sound at their "dream"
    gig:

    No. =)

    I don't really do live sound reinforcement (though I HAVE). I don't
really LIKE doing it, because, you have to cope with 15 people coming up
every 5 minutes saying "There's too much highs, and I can't hear the
vocals," then, another 15 saying "There's not enough highs, and the
vocals are too loud." <shrug> =)

And I also don't like working with other people on sound for the same
reason. No offense, but, there's been NO ONE that hears things the same
way I do, so, fights are inevitable.

This one moron, who *I* taught to run sound, and was using *MY* board,
kicked me off of it, after the band (which I had just left) told me I
    could. I said, "Fine. Whatever."

So, all of a sudden, the lead vocals disappear. Loud, nasty noise. (The
Battery Went Dead In The Wireless Mike.) Poor guy cranked down the fader.
It was still there. (I'm standing back behind him, WHY DON'T YOU MUTE THE
CHANNEL, KILL THE BUSS SENDS FROM THAT CHANNEL, AND TURN ON THE TAPE
INPUT (which wasn't being used), YOU IDIOT?!) The singer came off stage
and showed him how to do that (which is the only thing he knew how to do
    sound-wise).

Then, when the PA went down, I just laughed. I knew what the problem was
(this was years ago, but, I remember it being something REALLY
simple...just not exactly what it was), but refused to help him.
    Little bastard. =)

So, No Offense - I know you couldn't POSSIBLY be anywhere NEAR as
incompetent (shit, I knew some gorillas who were more capable of running
sound than this moron) - but, the experience (and several others) just kinda
left a nasty taste in my mouth. =)

    =)

Well, semi-DT content there. If ya don't like the lack of it, KISS THE
    BACK OF IT! <Hmm!>
