I was watching "Live From the House of Blues" a couple nights ago on WTBS (I
think) and before they cut to commercial they had a shot of the House of
Blues logo. It said (surprise, surprise) House of Blues, but behind it
(SURPRISE!!!) was a BURNING HEART WRAPPED IN THORNS. Hmmmmmmm. Where have
    I seen THAT before?

I guess I'll add my little story. It's not a long one or even a profound
    one. Ready?

I saw the "Pull Me Under" video on MTV's Dream Time.

That's pretty much it. I was captivated so much by that one song, that I
felt I HAD to check them out. Before I bought Images and Words, a friend
of mine showed me an article in a magazine about Dream Theater, in which
they mentioned being influenced by both Rush and Queensryche. At the
time, I was a big Queensryche fan and she was getting me into Rush. I
then decided that even though I had only heard ONE DT song (which I
LOVED), I'd get Images and Words. I figured that anyone inspired by both
Rush and Queensryche should be pretty good. Well, now I know that not
only is DT "pretty good" but they are possibly the BEST band I have ever
heard, even compared to Rush and Queensryche!

Can some please tell me if Dream Theater came to New Orleans this year or
if they have New Orleans on their tour schedule and when it is? Thanks.
DT could come hear and I'd never know because they get absolutely NO
    recognition from local radio stations.

--What classic rock song by whom also contains the line "Brain Salad
Surgery" (Hint--Its not ELP I'm looking for.) This goes back to the 70's.

    Answer: "Right Place, Wrong Time" by Dr. John, a 'classic rock' piece;
since this is what tends to be played at my new job. It's what I (and DT,
I'd guess) grew up with and it's infinitely better, IHMO, than R&B, C&W or
(C)rap. Also why I like the covers on ACOS. But progmetal/prog is still
    the very best.

Does anyone else out there know of any other songs by a particular band
which were also album names, but did not appear on the album by that same
    name?

---Thanks for those who gave their input on this line.

Speaking of 'classic progmetal' "Lunatic Fringe" by RedRyder(sp?), a very
    PF-like song (and band?), IMO, that still gets a fair amount of airplay;
did this band ever put out anything else worth recommending? Relationship
    to the group "Planet P"?

Also, I have an additional, new, email address at my new job, that I'm more
likely to read more often if anyone cares to personally comment:

    rbraun@tlr.ameridata.com

although my other address, which is probably in the email header for this
post, is also still valid, just checked less often.

Sorry, I forgot to add this question:

Since I'm getting the JAM in digest form, ARE THERE MORE SKIPPED JAM #'s
RECENTLY, than in the past, or are my email servers screwed up??????

Perhaps our Ytsejam-host (Sir Bibb) might like to answer, especially if
I'm not the only one wondering about this question...

I can't stop giggling every time I hear "Gaia", because I swear Johan
Edlund sounds like a gothic Elmer Fudd, but _Wildhoney_ is indeed an
*excellent* CD, and an interesting contrast if DT is all you listen to. I'm
glad to see someone else into them.
