Hello everyone, it's BABS. This is for Richard Rivera and his inquiry about what happened with the YTSE Con. Yes it did happen. The turnout was small (approx. 34 people including band members). There will be a detailed write up about it soon in the Metropolis Watch - the fanzine operated by Miss Jaime Kimpton. Keep an eye out for her postings about it soon on the 'jam. We all had a good time and I am sorry that I lost contact with the college crew since a lot of you didn't have your email access over the summer. A second convention is in the works (very premature at this point) with a possible chance of it being more centrally located in the US. Again, this is very premature - so please don't anybody get too excited.

    Take care! -BABS

    Hello,

Sorry 'bout the non-DT content but I'll guess you'll forgive me because I'm working my butt off to get the new version of the DT poll on the Jam soon.

I'm hoping Olaf Bode will read this, because I can''t find his e-mail adress anywhere and I really need to contact him. So Olaf, if you read this or anyone else has his adress please mail me !!!

Well, maybe someone on the list can help me out. I have two questions. 1: Does anyone have a copy of Lost in the Sky bootleg? Either to sell or to copy. The one problem is that if it is going to be a copy it has to be on Minidisc because that;s the only recording device that i have. I do not have a tape or DAT player. If at least i could borrow the cd if it's not asking too much. Thanks.

second, (for HTML experts). For some reason some pages on my web page do not show up in netscape. I dont know about other browsers. The page loads and says document done but nothing shows up. You can view the source and the page will be in the source box. I've tried two different versions of netscape and different machines (mac, pc, and NeXT) and the same problem occurs. If you would like to see an example try:

    http://isr0939.urh.uiuc.edu/dt/sound/dtsong.htm

or there are some other ones on my DT page that do the same thing. Most of the magazine articles do not work either. Thanks for any help anyone can give.

Due to serious financial and personal problems, I am going to have to quit America Online. Being a fellow Ytsejammer was great, it's such a strong community, and one day I promise I'll be back. I hope you all enjoy "A Change of Seasons", as I can't stop thinking about it myself(I've even dreamed about it!). So long, and "let the light surround you." ----Jon (Ibanez 7)

I've found myself listening to Subconcious and Kevin's demos a _lot_ lately, and got to wondering: has anybody heard anything new about Kevin? Last mention was the possibility of a contract agreement - anything further? Airdance, you out there? :^)

Next week, Keith and I will be heading for Monterey, CA for a couple days, and we would like to visit the actual Dream Theater (no, this is not meant to be a pilgrimmage <g>; Monterey is a sentimental place for us for other reasons). Can someone who has been there before tell me exactly where it is?

hey Jammers, get a load of this one:

I was listening to my Awake CD today. It was on Innocence Faded when my sister walked by and said (are you ready for this?), "This sounds like Bon Jovi." (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I was baffled! I didn't know what to say, so I told her that Dream Theater is a million times better than Bon Jovi, and she said, "not the music, the singer." Baffled again!! Isn't that a weird thing? Does anybody out there see any similarity at all between James Labrie and John Bon Jovi?? I don't! Just thought I'd share that with you all. ----dave --dduva@freenet.niagara.com ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ .and the streams they are running to an ocean that is dry --The Tea Party, "The Majestic Song" ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I am just wondering how may people have experienced bad traders.

I haven't traded with many people but have not had too much good luck.

I have been dicked over by 2 traders who promised to send their end within a couple of days of the agreement but fail to follow through. And 6-7 months later I am pissed off.

Regardless of their many excuses the bad traders I have experienced are Al Balkiewicz and Jermey Haynes.

I dont think I will trade with any new traders unless they have some show that I have to have like a show I was at. I will continue to trade with people I have had success with in the past though.

    oh well...

    pissed off at bad traders

I am going to be there soon to check out the R&R Hall of Fame and would like to know of other stuff to do while I'm there (and maybe meet up with some fellow Jammers). Email me privately, please...
