Is there anyone out there who is into King Diamond? His band(s) seems to have
a lot of the "progressive metal" trademarks - the high, piercing vocals,
guitar shred-fests, theatrical arrangements, etc... Just wondering.

Hi Bernd, it's BABS. Sorry to hear that you are hitting a little bit of
hard times where your profession is concerned. I need to have you remedy
something for me. I just recently got back from CA (hello to all my email
pals, I'll be writing everyone shortly) and a few 'jammers and I got
together and listed to Superior - excellent stuff I must say. Then came
the fun part of discussing w/ everyone on how your name is
pronouned. I say that it sounds like "Burn id" others say that it is like
"Bare nid" Could you please straighten us all out on this?

BTW, everyone check out the latest DT sticker from Todd - it's looking good
and the colors are wonderful!

This time I'm more informed than you!
If you heard the Sieges Even's 93 release, you heard "A sense of change"
(which features a song called Change Of Seasons!).This is good but nothing more
This winter, they released the new album "Sophisticated",which is the best thing
I heard recently along with Angra, and surely the most complex and impossible
to play, but yet melodically pleasant.
I know it's blasphemy, but these guys could play DT tracks in their sleep!
You all should get this album, I guess any German dealer has it, it's really
worth listening!

Matteo,
I wish I could spend a lot of time talking to you about Jason. But I have
limited time right now. So here is a Web Page for you to visit.
This has tons of Jason Becker info. And should be up to date. Last I have
heard Jason is still alive, but suffering greatly from ALS. He is paralized
just about everywhere. Check out the Page for tons of info.

I've never met Charlie Dominici, but once I do I will be able to tell
you if every person that has ever played for DT is one of the coolest
people I've ever met. So far, though, it's 6 for 6.
First, John P and Derek were just totally outstanding Monday night. Not
only completely professional, but a lot of fun. John either loves us or
hates us for following him around the country, but he's aware that we're
out there supporting him. Derek's just cool as shit. The cool thing is
that he doesn't *look* like a rock star, and when he walked out of SIR
before the clinic, I didn't even notice him till people started flocking
around him. :) But he said hi to me like we were old friends, and we've
only met once.
Then, this morning, I see a note from "Kevin Moore" in my inbox, and I'm
thinking it's a prank. But it was him, thanking me for having a
ChromaKey link on my DT page.
Good thing this isn't a GnR list or something. I'm glad that these guys
appreciate the way we appreciate them. :)
So, stop bitching at each other (davechrisbenpatalanetc...) and enjoy the
music.
Quote of the night from the clinic: "I wrote that song about missing my
wife when I'm out on the road. Actually, I missed her so much that we
had twins."

hey all.
i had a few reponses to my post about the track listings and such. one reply i tried to make bounced back, so i'm just gonna post this to the jam for everyone.
the title of the tribute is "Working Man". i know you can order magna carta cds through cdnow, which is http://www.cdnow.com (with or without the www, i can't remember off hand). i've ordered several albums through them. their service is good and quick. usually just a few working days to get your order.
you can also order direct from magna carta, as i did, but it takes 4-5 weeks for the shipment to arrive. they can be reached at:
Magna Carta 208 E. 51st St. #1820 New York, NY 10022
price is $15.98 (shipping and handling included)
enjoy!
oh, BTW, am i the only person that is getting tired of the childish fighting on the jam lately? man. everybody chill. :-)
BTW, surf on over to http://members.gnn.com/subtlerage/ you can sign my guestbook and check out my music.

Serious. :-) And, I'm not gonna lay the neighbor's daughter....she's like, 8. I don't know if you know, but like 6 months ago, I kinda flirted with the Trib idea on the Jam, and a few guys took over organizing capabilities....but the way we were planning to do it, nobody was ever going to meet anywhere. It would all be done by sending tapes...which probably would NOT have worked, therefore causing the whole thing to crash and disappear. I, on the other hand, still reaaalllllly wanted to do it, and was extremely pleased when somebody brought it up again. So, in conclusion, I really really really REALLY wanna see this done, and be apart of it, and might even make some really stupid business decisions (sending money to people I don't know) in order to get it done. Why? Because I wanna!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know Dave, even at Dream N Day's peak time here on the jam, he NEVER posted that much in one jam. Why don't you back off a little bit. 40% of the last jam was just yourself. You may be impressing the hell out of yourself; but myself, I'm getting a little tired of it.

<< It would be even cooler if someone invested the energy to make a wholealphabet from the lettering of the DT logo! Any volunteers? >>
I actually sat down and did this about two years ago on a rather primitive program called Storyboard (yes, I was very bored at the time <G>), but alas, I lost the disk... and I don't think I have the program anymore, either. It didn't look all that great anyway. :} The Theater of Dreams logo is done entirely in the DT font, but then, they've also got a hell of a lot better of a computer (and printer and scanner and just about everything else) than I do. ::wry grin::
By the way, issue #14 of the fanzine should be out in the very near future - I was holding it while waiting for a couple submissions, but I get a free ride up to my school (where the print shop is) tomorrow, so I guess whoever didn't make it will have to hold off til the next one...
Wasting bandwidth for no discernable purpose, Jaime the Dragon (who will be back on IRC in a few weeks... hehehehe)

Hmmm.....interesting. "Afraid Of Sunlight" was a decent album, I'd say, but I prefer "Holidays In Eden" from the Hogarth era. But it's good to hear someone not slamming the post-Fish Marillion....which is still a hell of a band. I, too, have heard that they've got an album coming up somewhere soon, but I dunno....I eagerly await. I'm a BIG Marillion fan.

Did anyone notice...
I only noticed this on the cassette tape version of Awake:
In the liner notes, under each song's title, it lists each song's writers as follows:
Music: Lyrics:
However, for The Mirror, it is backwards:
Lyrics: Music:
Kind of a 'Mirror' image of the other songs. I doubt it's just a typo, Because I'm quite sure that DT would have been ingenious enough to have thought of this, and actually, it's pretty cool. It's probably old news (or maybe not, I don't know), but I just thought you guys might like to know.
