Not by a long shot! There are/were a good few in England and the rest of the
UK. But I suspect that many of them didn't resubscribe to the new "ax" list
after the "arastar" ytsejam went off the air, as they haven't posted since
the changeover. Jezza and Patricia spring to mind, and a couple of
others . . .

This is incorrect: the show on 3/21 will have Dionne Farris, which is a
repeat from 5/11/95. The show on 3/22 will have Extreme, which is
a repeat from 2/17/95. Also, I thought I'd mention that Stone Temple
Pilots will be on a new episode on 3/29.

I think it's a good idea to get DT on Letterman, but now is not the
best time to lobby. Look at the musical guests lately, and they either have
new albums, new singles, or are doing relatively well on the charts. DT does
not qualify in any of these categories right now. Even when DT's new album
comes out, I still think it would be difficult to get them on Letterman. The
only metal bands I've seen on Letterman are Megadeth and White Zombie,
and they both had good chart status at the time. The only prog band I've
seen on Letterman is Yes, and that was when Talk came out. I remember
someone mentioning Saturday Night Live once, and that doesn't seem
feasible, either. Writing to Late Night with Conan O'Brien seems like a
more realistic and feasible operation, IMO. If he could be turned, he
would become a powerful ally. Yes. Yes. He would be a great asset.
Can it be done? He will join us or die...

Hey, all DT fans, I'm new to the 'Jam and I came across something by
Matt. A great idea for all DT fans everywhere to be involved with. A
video for ACoS would undoubtedly be the best idea in the world. From
what I heard, the 'Jammers were the ones who encouraged the official
release of ACoS to begin with. I'd say every DT fan should get their own
concept for the greatest video to be made and see if the 'Jam can strike
twice at DT and their record company, etc to fund it.
I also noticed someone (sorry can't remember the name I read
through about three or four days worth of 'Jammers mail) who is thinking
about transcribing ACoS. In Guitar World a couple of months ago, in
Petrucci's column he essentially gave the chord progression for the
"Another World" part and a friend of mine figured out the amazing
interplay of instruments just before "Another World"

yes tesla is one of my favorite bands to see live... possibly my total
favorite because they just put out one hell of a good rock show. I
think Tommy was in rehab a while ago, when i saw them i think they were
playing with warrants ex guitarist or somethin' like that... that may
be why he wasnt at the show... i'm not sure on that though... As far
as Frank- yeah he's a great player, and i dont really measure him to
petrucci because he plays that rock stuff that you dont see petrucci do
either. They're both great guitarists nonetheless. so i'll second Dr
X's motion to get out there and go see 'em if you get the chance.

Hi guys, I just wanted to say 2 things.
1)I have updated the list of jammers on my web page, those
Jammers that do have web pages that want to be on my page,
email me. I think I've got a total of, plus 70. My guess is
around 80 or so.
2)i>The Megadeth faq which I am working on is up also at my
web page and ii>on the Megadeth mailing list, there was
talk about who would be touring with megadeth for the next
cd, I believe someone mentioned DT..come to think of it,
that would be a very cool show. Dream Theater and Megadeth
on tour together. Any thoughts?

Okay everyone how are you??? Im fine and finally done with all these
ytsejam shirts (actually i've been done for quite a while but I was waiting
to ensure that everything was okay and that all the orders got where they
were supposed to be before I offer the extras out to you guys. Well I have
some extras and they are for sale for the same price as the others where.
Heres what I have left...
Tee shirts: $15 + $3 (S&H)
8 XL 100% Black
1 L 100% Black
3 XL 100% maroon
Sweat Shirts: $23 + $3 (S&H)
1 XL hooded 9 ounce maroon
1 XL hooded 9 ounce forest green
1 XL nohood 7.5 once maroon
If your wondering, what they look like, they are totally different than
Jason Giles made so if you have one of those you can still get one of
these... They have a huge Majesty symbol on the back with DT's logo above
it. On the front, "ytsejam" is centered across the chest in big letters in
a courrier new font. Below it is "Dream Theater's Internet Mailing List"
and below that is the new address both in smaller letters and a different
font that "ytsejam".
I promise you will be very happy with the shirts. The design on the front
is VERY "eye catching" and I when ever I go into a store or the mall or at
school or anywhere with people there, Hundreds of eyes are looking at my
shirt!!! It just makes people look. I have because of this shirt told
Dozens of peope about DT just cause they asked about my shirt!!!!! Its
killer!!
Let me know!

ProgDay '96 Update #2
ProgDay '96 will be held Saturday August 31 and Sunday

last year: Storybook Farm in Chapel Hill, NC. Directions
for travel and hotel accomadations will be posted in a later
update.
TICKET INFO: Admission will be $20 a day at the gate.
Advance weekend passes are available for $35 (price good
until July 31, 1996). Send a check or money order to:
Peter Renfro
207 South Elliott Road
Chapel Hill, NC 27514
LINE-UP: The following bands are confirmed:
TRISTAN PARK ILUVATAR
GLASS HAMMER MASTERMIND
DISCIPLINE CAST (from Mexico)
ARS NOVA (from Japan)
Other bands being contacted and/or considered:
FRENCH TV CLOUD NINE
SQUONK OPERA PENDRAGON
TIMOTHY PURE former members of ECHOLYN
SEASONS END 23rd HOUR
TILES SPOCK'S BEARD
COLLAGE ANTHONY PHILLIPS
ANNIE HASLAM CAMEL
SHADOW GALLERY FISH (!)
CLIVE NOLAN/TRACY HITCHINGS
IN THE CLUBS: There has been an over-whelming response of bands
wishing to play at ProgDay. There is no way I can accomodate them
all. If bands want to take advantage of this unique gathering
of prog fans from around the world, I would recommend getting in
touch with the LOCAL 506 CLUB and booking a show for that Friday,
Saturday, or Sunday nights (Aug. 30, Aug. 31, Sept. 1). Their
phone number is: (919) 942-5506. I have not contacted the club
myself yet, but I will be more than happy to provide information
and/or videos of ProgDay '95 to help convince the management that
they should not pass up this opportunity. Since ProgDay ends at
dusk, there should not be any conflict with a band playing in the
club. Prepare yourselves for the ultimate PROG OVERLOAD!!!
PROGDAY WEB-PAGE: I hope to have the official ProgDay web-page
up and running in a month or so. Not only will it have up-to-the
minute news, but photos, reviews, sound clips, and (hopefully) video
clips! All of this provided by computer wizard extra-ordinaire, Craig
Tucker!
PROGDAY '96 VOLUNTEERS: I will have a list of duties for volunteers
to sign up for in the next ProgDay update. For now--just spread the
word!
PROGDAY '95 VIDEO UPDATE: It looks like I will be able to
put together a pretty nice 2-hour video from ProgDay '95.
Final editing should be finished within the month. Special
thanks to APeX for helping make this happen! I will
post ordering details and track info as soon as the tapes
are ready!
PROGDAY '95 CD UPDATE: Actually I don't have anything new
to report about the CD, except I hope it will be ready for
ProgDay '96! I am still accepting pictures for the booklet
if anyone out there still has any to contribute.
SPECIAL THANKS: A special thank you goes out to all those
who attended ProgDay '95 and cleaned up after themselves (which
was practically everyone)! We had a small wedding reception
at Storybook Farm yesterday and they trashed the picnic areas!
Prog fans are certainly respectful and I really appreciate it. The
landlord told me he had no problem with ProgDay '96 being held at
Storybook Farm again!

Hi All,
The Dutch Dream Theater fanclub is still in business. They just (a month ago)
finished their 2nd magazine, and it looked great!
So Wessel, I think that you can better write them a letter or call them if you

No, no, no, not the one where I go to the local record shop to buy the Dream
Theater Tribute CD and find that the cover art is of Ytse-Ben's Bald Anus
getting branded by the majesty logo, and where the liner notes are filles
with BBafu and Airdance's wedding pictures and Pull My Finger is on it and
becomes a smash radio hit, no not that nightmare, this one is worse.
There I am, at the Warfield, in the middle of a great show, when John M
starts playing this kinda funky bass beat. It sounds vaguely familiar, but
I don't recognize it totally, and neither does the audience, so we just
ignore it. Then John P and Mike and Derek start up. It's sitting just on
the edge of my memory, taunting me like one of those itches in the middle of
your back. Then, James runs on stage and starts singing "Well, you can tell
by the way I use my walk!" (translated from Labrie-ese) and we suddenly
realize, it's Stayin' Alive! The audience starts screaming, trampling each
other for the doors, people are getting mangled and all the while James is
shouting "Ah Ah Ah Ah Stayin' Alive! Flickin' my Bicin' and everybody's a
Chicken, Stayin Alive Stayin Alive!" or whatever and then I wake up
screaming and the doctor's putting the straps on me again and telling the
nurses to hide the rubber chickens and then everything's a blur as the
medecine kicks in.
