1: It'll probably start around 12.
2: It'll be probably longer than your average shower.
3: You should ask them what they're gonna play. I'd assume it's mostly
new material.
4: it's 1 1/2 hours from Philly.
5: I'm probably the only jammer (minus you) going to the show, so you
might wanna ask me.

I dunno if anyone has noticed, even though from the ACoS album that
he does, but James sings very much the same as Steve. The voice is
close, but the style is there. Everytime I listen to the
Whoaha-oh-aho-ahohs! at the end of Innocence Faded I always think of
this. Steve wouldn't fit in well at all in a prog band, tho. In a
guitar magazine article from awhile back. Neal Schon said that he
(Steve) despised doing Edge of the Blade from the Frontiers album.
Steve said it was too heavy and full of too much hate... heheh... I
love the song personally.
Also, does anyone notice the difference between the members in this
new one? There seems to be "tension" in the music. Almost as if it
was played and written out of convenience instead of by a bunch of
fun-lovin' guys...
I also noticed where Steve listed Jason Becker in his thanks to:
spot. Very cool.
Anyway. Sorry for no DT content. All there is to write about anyway
is the upcoming gigs and Mike's clinics which I've heard enuff
about... (Envy and spite anvy and spite!)

Unfortunately, DT can do nothing for the thought pollution emerging
from Rush's show... It may however be a deterrent for the
closed-minded people who watch and/or listen to that show to turn it
off. That would be kewl! Play DT dammit Rush! Oh, by the way, sir,
please step into the helicopter... It's perfectly safe in there,
trust me...:-)

Message-ID: <327978CE.1139@pop.dakotacom.net>
hey jamers,
It's me again, just here to shed some light on the POISON issue. Well,
I heard from Blues Saraceno's current rehearsal drummer that the POISON
album will not be released due to a "lack of market." These words
according to Jimmy Keegan, Blues' drummer, were said by the A&R guys to
Blues and the rest of the POISON gang. Ok, this is where my thoughts
come in.... Why do companies fool themselves, or try to fool the
Artists, by saying that there is no "market." In my experience with
record lables, I have learned that the companies effort to promote the
artist is what makes the "market." I not only base these words in
opinion, but it is clear when we see such bands as Milli Vanilli, or 4
non blondes selling millions of records. This is marketing at its
finest, we are being fed this massive dose of nothing, and we are eating
it and asking for more. What I'm trying to say is that, most companies
just don't want to put good money on true tallent, so they would much
rather spend it on CRAP, yes my friends, nothing but
CCCCCRRRRRAAAAAAAPPPPPPPP!! These are my thoughts, nothing more,
nothing less. Oh, incase your wondering why I know this, Jimmy Keegan
recorded the drum tracks on our album this summer. (I can hear the
FLAMES!!!)
Sincerely,
Hector Crisantes

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
** The XXL shirts are now sold out, and the XXXL shirts have been sold out
** since last week. There are still three Medium shirts, 18 Large, and 85
** XL remaining.
** The third shipment went out in the mail yesterday, and should be getting
** to boxes this weekend. Things are going well so far with ordering.
** There has been one misdirected package so far, and we're waiting on the
** post office statute of limitations to run out to get it taken care of.
** Other than that, every package has arrived, even airmail.
** I did manage to make the money to make the final payment in time for the
** shirts. From this point on, the shirts will be going towards paying back
** my loan for the downpayment. Thanks again to everyone who has ordered,
** and all of you who plan to.
* The Ytsejam shirt page has been updated once again. It has a direct
* scan of the front and backs of the shirts, so you can see what they
* *really* look like, and not just what they are *supposed* to look like.
* Check it out at:
http://www.cclabs.missouri.edu/~c675311/ytsejam/
I would just like to take this chance to thank everyone who has
been so supportive of the shirts... It's nice to know that my work on
this project is appriciated.
Well, the sales at YtseCon III went fairly well, thank you to everyone
who bought a shirt. I've sold something like 70 shirts in all, which
is a good start. I'm hoping that orders will pick up again soon, now
that the Con has come and gone and things have calmed down a bit.
I have the shirts in my possession now, they are sitting in three big
boxes that take up too much space in my tiny dorm room. :) They all
came out exceptionally well, better than I expected, in fact. Process
jobs (printing color graphics one color at a time) are notorious for
severely distorting the graphic, but in this case, it came out very
true to the original.
The shirts were premiered at YtseCon III in New York, and everyone I
talked to seems very happy with them.
* I have added another section to the WWW page for the shirts. It's a
* compilation of all the comments I have recieved, or that have been posted
* to the jam. You can check this out and see how opinions are running.
* I opened a checking account in Columbia to better handle the orders I'm
* recieving and also get them out without incident or delay. So far things
* are working well.

Details
=======
The Ytsejam shirts are two sided prints. The front of the shirt features
a *full color* raytraced graphic from Chris Hailey in Washington. The
graphic is a beautifully done scene with the Majesty logo floating behind
a group of marble columns on a tile floor with a wide view of space
visible behind.
The back of the shirt is in a solid light blue color. The majority
of the design is a huge Majesty logo, framed by the Dream Theater title
at the top, the mailing list address on the sides and "Ytsejam" at the
bottom. Below that is "Internet Mailing List" between two more Majesty
logos.
The current lot of shirts is 217 (they printed up more than I asked
for, but I'm not complaining). If those run out, and demand is high
enough, I may run another with a slightly different design.
You can check out all of the details, as well as a preview of the shirts at:
http://www.cclabs.missouri.edu/~c675311/ytsejam/
Please note: Due to some legal issues, the University will no longer allow
me to keep this commercial advertisement on their server. To sidestep this
issue, Chris Merlo was kind enough to put the page up on his account.
Please go to the URL above and follow the link to the new site.
=======
Pricing
=======
The cost of the shirts is $16 each. The shirt is damn close to concert
quality, so $16 is a steal (last Dream Theater concert I was at charged
$23 for a shirt!). If you require a size larger than XL, please let me
know ASAP so I can get those orders in. There is an additional $1 charge
for each size increase (ie. XXL = $17). If you are picking the shirt up
from me directly the $16 price stands. If you can't get the shirt in
person, you can order one through the mail for $20 to cover shipping.
I spoke with the people at the post office and I've decided to set the
shipping prices outside the USA at $9, for a total of $25. I realize
this is damn expensive for a tshirt, and I'm sorry. If individual prices
are signifigantly less expensive, I will gladly return a check for the
balance.
The rundown:
M, L or XL shirt, picked up: $16
M, L or XL shirt, mailed in the US: $20
M, L or XL shirt, mailed outside the US: $25
XXL add $1
XXXL add $2

Ordering
========
The shirts are open to mail ordering now. Mail orders will be shipped
out every Wednesday via Priority Mail for US orders, and airmail for
all others. Checks and money orders will be cashed before the order goes
out, most likely on Monday. So far, mail orders have gone well, the only
problem I have had has been with the bank, not the post office, so don't
worry about your orders. All US orders are insured for the amount paid
for the shirts and shipping, and insurance on airmail depends on the
country and other aspects.
To order, send a check or money order for the proper US dollar amount (see
pricing above) to:
Pat Griffin
537A Hudson Hall
1202 E. Rollins St.
Columbia, MO 65201
Make them payable to Pat Griffin, and remember this in US dollars.
Be sure to include:
Your name.
Email address.
Mailing address.
Phone number.
Quantity of shirts you want to order.
The size of each.
Whether this order is for pickup for mail order.
I will keep you up to date on the status of the shirts through email.

I like Journey a lot. Talented guys who write music I can sing with (not
well, mind you, but it's fun to try. :)
I saw their drummer, Steve Smith, give a clinic on LI at Sam Ash probably
about 8 years ago now. Wow, he smokes. Truly outstanding.

That would be nice. Maybe I could catch some Mets games next season. :)
BTW, while I'm thinking of it, Richie and I have formed a band called Nine Miles. If you or someone you know sings or plays keys, lives in the Burlington VT area, and would like to join a prog-influenced band, e-mail one of us.

Is this the beginning of the end of the ytsejam?
To admit my contribution to trying to keep some of the spirit of the original ytsejam alive, I even deleted the flame about the downward spiral of the list that I had written before this !^)> After something like 1945 'jams later, I'm not too keen on abandoning ship as some have done (or keep threatening to do).
