Someone posted in the last issue about where to find LiT in Oregon. (I
forget who, as I deleted the message before responding.)

I got my copy just last week, as a matter of fact, and I ordered it from
Tower Records' telephone order line, at 1.800.ask.tower. It cost me about
    $20 with the shipping.

    I hope this helps.

so what the hell is that ytsecon? i've been reading about it for a
buttload of time and haven't found out anything but the noun.

also, all those "lsoad" and "latm" and "towhtsts" things are gettin'
overboard. it's cool to avoid typing the whole name, but for the sake
of clarity and other readers' time (i, for example, have spent 5
minutes trying to decipher one of those) can you just quit it? in
    short, abbrvitns sck.

finally got it off my chest.

flames welcome, i ain't easily annoyed at this point.

thank you very much, it's half of 1 am and i'm off to sleep.

Yes! it's great. I got it at a "best buy" price of $9.99. Does anyone
know if they ever released additional material? I've heard that the
line-up changed for a short while (Robert Berry?) and another album was
being recorded but never made it to market. Anyone know the story?

*Didn't* they battle over that name in court ? That's what *I* heard...
What I meant to say before, was that they could use the name "Yes",
because Chris Squire was involved... Not that he let "ABWH" use it...
    "Union" is actually a "11 x ABWH + 4 x YES" album...

    > <nod> the abwh stuff is abwh.

Yup, on 4 trax & some "ABWH" backing vocals...

Try approximation !!! Let's say you're not dividing by zero, but by
something that approximates zero, for instance 0.0000000000000000000001 !
The more "zero's" you add, the bigger the result gets... Now, imagine
dividing by an infinately small number (zero). The result *will* be
    infinity !!! Ok, I also think 0/0 should be *one*... A/A = 1/1 <-- A=0
    Nevermind...

Jars of Clay does use a drummer on tour now, I believe. I did see them
last July, and I think I remember seeing/hearing a drummer, but I may be
mistaken. Oh, and they did score a few opening slots with Sting in case
    that means anything to anybody.

    >I refuse to be caught with my dork hanging out in the wind...
Don't knock it 'til you try it :).

    >..."shed"...to mean lots and lots of practice in a private place where >no one can hear us...
Yeah, we used the term woodshedding a lot in jazz band.

Cool. "Voodo Child" (SRV did a killer version of it) is on the
radio right now. I think I might have to go dig my Hendrix disc out.
If you want to hear someone experiment with guitar sounds,
listen to The Edge (U2). Now, of course, the music isn't exactly prog,
but Edge does some funky-ass things with effects.

Well, better go. Gotta get up early for work (cringe). Cheers.

    I'll try to be quick:

Yes, dividing a finite number by zero is undefined at the point, but the
limit of x/n, with x as any real number and n a small number heading towards
zero is infinity. zero/zero is a different matter. That's really
undefined, and you have to look at the function in which it appears to
    figure out the limit.

For non-caculus-heads: the limit is (more or less) where the value would go
if it could get there. Make any more sense? :)

John, if you want to hear older Yes, and I recommend that you do, wait until
next month when Keys to Ascension comes out. It's a live CD recorded back in
March, it also has two new teacks on it which are both 9 minutes plus.
Unfortunately, if you are expecting Talk II, forget it. Trevor Raben, the
guitarist, and Tony Kay, the keyboardist are gone, replaced by the classic
linup of Rick Wakeman on keys and Steve Howe on guitars. This release won't
be anythng like the 80s stuff. Give Big Generator another listen, I think you
may find something on it. And as far as older Yes, I'd strongly recommend
buying some older albums, like Fragile or Close to the Edge. Actually, a good
compilation for you would be Yes Songs, a double live CD which ahs a lot of
great material and solos. If you are into DT, you may find some merit in
older Yes, but give it a chance. Take the plunge.

..speaking of 2-CD DT sets, today I got in the mail Unconsciously Unreal
and Lost In The Sky. The former, containing a handful of cuts from '89 with
Charlie on vocals, is from audience tapes, so its fidelity is a bit lacking.
However, the latter is straight out of the mixer, and it sounds great.
(Well, just a notch below that of LatM). So, I'd say if fidelity is a big
deal to you and you happen to run across Lost In The Sky....GET IT!

    Itchy.

Union has great songs on it. There were too many producers. Why did they need
so many keyboard players when Kay and Wakeman should've been the only ones
theere. Give me a brerak. If you wanted it to be a true Yes Union, it
would've been all eight of them playing on every song, not 4 Cinema trakcs
and 11 ABWH tracks. Didn't see the tour, wasn't into them yet. Got a good

    The _ORIGIONAL_ lineup is:

Peter Banks (g), Tony Kaye (k), Chris Squire (b), Bill Bruford
                            (d), and Jon Anderson (v)

    For the Drama album:

Chris Squire (b), Alan White (d), Steve Howe (g), Trevor Horn
                            (v), Geoffrey Downs (k)

The key member is Chris. HE OWNS THE NAME, since he's been on every
album. Peter Banks does a track on the "Tales From Yesterday" album.
Chris is with Yes. Bill's in King Crimson. Tony Kaye? Who cares. :)

does anyone have the triaxis settings of Petrucci? I thought they were
listed in some guitar magazine once, like GW or GFTPM, when Awake came out,
but when I looked at mine recently, I couldn't find a thing. If any of
yall have his settings, could you please E-mail them to me. Don't just
post them on the jam, 'cause I don't usually read the whole jam. Thanx for
    your trouble ;-D.

    >anywhere!! Please e-mail me privately. Thanks!

Man! You still can't get that thing Mike? I swear you're
    snakebit!
Someone dub a copy for this guy until he can locate it!

    >swear!! Then he said they have a fantastic lead singer in vein of Geddy
    >lee and Axl Rose!

            Axl Rod!!!!!!

Blessed Busty Mother Of Our Lord James LaBrie!! (I don't know
if she was a virgin ;) Is this guy deaf???????
I agree that he's an excellent frontman, but what a horrifying
singer to lump him in with!
I prefer to think of James as Placido Domingo with ATTITUDE!
    :)

    Cheers,
