    Yow,

I sent this letter off to Noise Records concerning Superior. I am
putting it here in hopes of encouraging the rest of you to do the
    same.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>

    To whom it may concern:

I believe it beneficial to you and us to release SUPERIOR "Behind"
to the U. S. as those of us who have heard it WANT IT! I have the CD
and when I play it, those listening always ask where to get it. I
have to reply "you can't-yet". This leads to " Please dub it for me".
Now I won't do that because I want the band to benefit from album
sales. But, since you won't release it here, it makes it awfully
    tempting.

The point is, I think you're shooting yourself in the foot by not
releasing it here as there is a market. Someone else who isn't as
moral as I am won't think twice about bootlegging this and thus
diluting sales here and ultimately money.

I would urge you to consider this as our money is as good as
Europe's. This is only one example, multiply this by 650 (the amount
of their CD's known to be in this country) and you can get an idea of
    what you're missing out on.

And while we're at it, how about a U.S. tour, maybe with Dream
    Theater? :>

Thank you very much for your time
    Bill Huston

    SUPERIOR fan
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I think maybe it was a little wordy but I wanted to make a point.
Don't worry, I really won't dub this for anybody-they have to buy it
    themselves.

    Wilmo

    available on cd?

About the G3 tour listing. That was only like 12 dates. The page says
    they will do 26-30 dates.

Thusly they shall come to Dc/Baltimore sometime hopefully!

That's why I have such mixed feelings about "Union"...
Yes' record company refused to release the stuff they'd come up with
after Jon Anderson had left for "Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe", simply
because they didn't find it good enough. That's how the whole 'union'
    thing was born...

Trevor Rabin has a tendency to just write songs, eventhough he doesn't
really need them... He 'gave' a couple of them (3) to Yes, because he
wasn't going to use them anyway... Chris Squire wrote one too for the
"Union"-album (The More We Live - Let Go)...

They didn't have enough material, and they couldn't use Roger Dean's
artwork/logo. Roger Dean was working for "Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe",
the 'other' yes. "ABWH" on the other hand, couldn't use the name Yes.

In order to make a 'real' Yes album, they needed Chris Squire for the
name Yes and Steve Howe for the logo. They also needed Jon Anderson on
vocals, because Yes without Anderson isn't Yes. So he did the vocals on
the Rabin-Yes songs too. The "ABWH" songs still have Tony Levin on
bass, so they really *were* meant as "ABWH" songs, as far as I know...

Damon mentioned the album being over-produced... Well, any album will
be over-produced if you put *this* many additional musicians on it...
THREE people on keyboards, ELEVEN on synths (what's the difference?),
TWO on percussion, SEVEN additional vocalists and ONE extra guitarist !

I still think it's a great album, but knowing all this stuff really
put it into perspective for me... The tour kicked some major ass, though.
I *did* notice that Kaye and White had a hard time keeping up with the
    others >:)

I'm also the proud owner of a very cool 4'9" high 3D "Union" display :-)

    Steve Howe - Keys/Guitars (Yes/Asia)
    Steve Hackett - Keys/Guitars (Genesis)
Jonathan Mover - Drums (Marillion-member for a couple of days in '84)
    Phil Spalding - Bassguitar
    Max Bacon - Vocals

It's produced by Geoffrey Downes (Yes/Buggles/Asia)

I remember Max Bacon doing some vocals on an album called "Dreamrunner",
by some project called "Phenomena II". Does anyone have *that* one ?
It had some pretty big names on it... Glenn Hughes, John Wetton...

of a CDNow label search on Magna Carta stuff. The full title is Steinway
To Heaven: Vol. 1 Magna Carta's Keyboard. The listing had some of the
artists: Ingles, Bryan, Moraz, Auger, Hymas, Emerson, Wakeman, Rudess,
and Leavell. It's due out on Oct. 8th. Anyone know anything else about
    it?

that's not true. Chris Squire wouldn't give them the name, and they almost went to legal battles over it (kinda like Pink Floyd, but with a nicer ending). The union came to be 'cause...well...read the UNION jacket.

With all of this talk about Yes, I thought I'd throw in my two cents:

As far as an evaluation of the history of Yes, I'd point to "Fragile" and "The Yes Album" as their two best. Awesome stuff, really. "Topographic" is also pretty damn cool, but far more esoteric. Like "2112," it's a lot to digest. It takes a few listens, to be sure. Additionally, I rather LIKE the recent Yes efforts. "Big Generator" is a really good record...I'd say I like it MORE than "Close To The Edge." I'd put "90125" a notch ahead of "Talk," but neither record's too bad. The "90125" record, of course, gave Yes a big hit, which turns a lot of people off to it, but I'd still say it's a strong one. "Union" is probably there with "90125" -- it's got some interesting experiments ("Angkor Wat"). Anyhow, I'd also say that "Tormato," "Relayer," and "Drama" are really good ones, but probably not in a class with the best.

Incidentally, I picked up the GTR CD in a used bin for a buck a couple of months ago. It's pretty good....certainly worth the buck!

Hi! I just started to recieve the Ytsejam over the net. I think its great!! Just in reading a few digests, I noticed that QR v. DT is a major issue. I also understand that its starting to annoy people. I read yesterday that someone said that Promise Land was a poor extension of Empire. First of all, PL was not supposed to be an extension of Empire. Queensryche wanted to move on and map out other musical directions. I like Empire and O:M a lot better than PL, but PL was still a good album. (Track 5 is my favorite) I also have a response to Jeremy (jeremy@gator.net) DT has many, many double cd sets. Which one are you talking about? I have Mind Control, Unconciously Unreal, and a ton of others. One set has Dominicci on vocals for a few tunes. All the other tunes are with JL. These are all bootlegs, by the way. I heard a little bit of Rush's TFE. I really don't like Rush that much. I know its blasphemy, but I couldn't take more than 5 minutes of Geddy's voice. However, I was very impressed with the bits and pieces I heard of the new album. It had a lot of groove as well as technical madness. I guess I just wanted to give my two cents. LATER!!

I've never heard anyone mentioned about Psychotic Waltz. I think Psychotic Waltz is a great band. They have 4 albums now, A social grace, Into the everflow (killer album), Mosquito & Bellding. But the problem is they do not have a didtributor in U.S. (they are from San Diego), all their CDs are Japanese or U.K. imported, very expensive and very hard to find in U.S. especially their 1st CD, kind of out of print. Anyone listened to Psychotic Waltz, please e-mail me, thanks. Best Regards, AE

I don't really like this band (I heard them a long time ago) but I know some of the jammers were asking if anyone had any for sale. I got them in the discount bin for $2.99 a piece. Unopened. First two e mails get them for $5 a piece (to cover shipping). Thought I'd help out some jammerz again. :)

<< Well, one band mentioned more than any other seems to be Shadow Gallery. I looked into this one, Carve In Stone in particular. And unfortunately, I don't like it. >> Don't ever cry, just remember! This is from all of us DT/SG fans! I love 'em both. Sure, the lyrics aren't the best (like DT) but they are pretty good at the experimentation! The flute solo, layered in with the rest rocks. They also do the keys/guitar as well as DT (or at least close)
