    | Does anyone know of the concert schedule of
    | Steve Morse and company. I would *love* to
    | see a jam like that one!!!

He's probably out on the east coast right now. A few of my co-workers saw him
at Tramps (in New York City) last week. Apparently, he was smokin!

    >>(plural intentional). I have no competition.
    >
    >..and I think to myself: No, it's Lars Hellsten, naturally. :P
I showed you, didn't I? Nobody can be more antagonistic than me
(at least, not on this mailing list).

    >Then I go on to watch this guy flame nearly everything I had put in my last
    >post.
I don't remember posting too many flames. If correcting an
important and common misconception about an individual that's important to
me is flaming, than I'm proud to be a flamer (no, not that kind).

    >Now normally, that's not a concern, I don't mind a flame or two.
So what's your problem? You may have gotten one from me, but you
    certainly didn't get two.

    >What doesn't kill you and all that. But I think we need a refresher
    >course for Jeff:
The only "refresher course" I need is what constitutes a flame. I
guess commenting on something without agreeing with it is a flame?

    >:) = Joke
I thought it had something to do with smiling.

    >That's right fella. That was at the end of every line of mine that you
    >flamed.
Is there another Jeff Falk on this list? I didn't flame anyone
recently. Unless you count the Hendrix comment, which is questionable.

    >So go on and tell me I'm wrong in the next three Jams for making
    >a bad joke
No, once is enough. Then I might take it to private e-mail.

    >but don't go telling me I'm wrong for no sane reason.
I never do anything unless I have a sane reason.

    >>However, being "open-minded" is not good. My mind is "closed" to what I
    >>>characterize as garbage.
    >
    >Oh, then I guess this is lost on you, isn't it? My bad...
Not too many things are lost on me. This isn't one of them. It's
    not a flame either.
This is exactly what happened on the Kiss mailing list; I made
enemies with everybody. I'm surprised it took so much longer on this one.

IMPORTANT NOTICE (in other words, please stop ignoring my post for
    a few lines)
If you're new to this list and are thinking of unsubscribing, don't
do it because of me. I usually don't post anyway. If I did, the list
manager (hello, Mr. Skadberg) would have kicked me off this list as soon as
he kicked me off the guest list for his parties (which was months ago).

end of notice: return to ignoring everything sent by Jeff Falk

Even though I am the YtseAsshole of the Millenia, I am considerate
and understand the rules and purpose of this list. So, the next time you
want to confront me about something, please send it to me privately. I
don't get enough private mail anyway.

I wholeheartedly agree. Though it and Learning to Live are DAMN close, I
think this one takes the lead in a head to head battle. Moderated by
    Gwen Stefani, of course...

    >AOR is album oriented rock.....AC is adult-contemporary which includes
    >anything by Neil Diamond, DuBarge, Gloria Esteban (sp?), Mariah Carey, >new Sting, most of VH-1, etc. It's music to which musically boring >people and my dentist work.

Hmm... Last time I checked, there was no D.D.S. after my name. :) Neil
Diamond is amazing, and for you to doubt that, you must not have heard
most of his music and lyrics. Heck, even the radio stuff is cool. And I
find it hard to fault Sting, but I would assume you're not a jazz-rock
fan. And VH-1 plays the Collective Soul, Police and INXS videos, things
I'll never see on that OTHER music channel. Though most of you fellas
might not lose sleep over missing those... :)

    >Does anyone know of the concert schedule of Steve Morse and company. I >would *love* to see a jam like that one!!! It would be right up there >with Steve Vai!

Here's a thought: if someone wants to take a little time and see if the
G3 and Steve Morse tours ever cross, we could be in store for one hell
of a jam at the end of the show. And yes, I'm still pissed Eric wussed
out to do his own summer tour. Guess he doesn't like thousands of
    adoring fans...

    >Maybe with a lttle push, they could one day have the widespread appeal >of, say, Bush. :)

I shudder at the mere thought of seeing the teeny bopper entourages at
the next DT show. Pony tails flying, the word "like" used twice a
sentence, each pre-teen girl with her shout of "WE LOVE YOU JAMES!!"
Egads, what if they joined the Jam! I cringe...:P
This last Jam was a riot, I must say. Even though I've been skipping
around most of the Fates content, I managed to catch this one:

    >- Olive Monster, the discontinued Seseme Street Puppet.

Chris Ptacek, you have made my day. Though Bafu helped... Great HitNF
review Bafu. Hit the nail on the head. Or did you drive the nail into my
head? ;) And one of Jeff Keifling's one-liners finally got a chuckle out
    of me...:)

You know, Canada really sucks shit. The new Fates Warning was supposed to be released on April 29, one week after you Americans got it. I call a metal store today, and they tell me it's delayed until May 6. I call HMV, they say: "uh, ya, you're right april 29, that's today. Sorry, it's not out yet". I'm stuck listening to 1 minute samples, again. Did anyone in Canada buy it yet? (without crossing to the U.S. of course)

Now I know what to expect when Dream Theater's new one comes out in the U.S.

Oh ya, bud I hope Queensryche burns in hell. (hehe). I had pancakes this morning.

    Ahoy,

First of all, I did not attend the show.... these are the stories from about five folks at school who did....

Metallica performed with C.O.C. opening last night at the Summit. Apparently it was the most unintentionally messed up show people had seen in a while... simply by bad luck there were apparently a lot of electrical problems....

    1. A fire began on stage with some electrical wiring on the intersection of the catwalk between the two main stages....

    2. The PA went haywire and the amps went whack and began distorting all of the instrument and vocal sounds.... the tech crew had to bring out a bunch of combo amps for the band... after this it wasn't quite as loud and the sound was of a lesser quality.

    3. (Here's the good one) A very large techman in a crow's nest fell out holding a broken, sparking, power line. On his way down he swung into 3 guitars knocking them over and across the stage, and then lost his grip and hit the stage really hard... this was apparently not staged as James stopped playing and pointed saying "what the fuck?" ... the paramedics ran out and began attending to the man.

    4. After bringing out the combos, the band only played one more song, "Motorbreath", and then quit because of the shit going on.... James walked back to the mike and goes "We'll fuckin see you later" and walked out....

Like I said, I wasn't actually there... but hearing this from several sources was enough to convince me.... sounds like they had a pretty bad time.... I'd be pissed as hell if I was in a band that big that had been touring so many times and something like that went on.... just thought I'd share this. · • Colonel Mustard • ·

One week to go until the remastered and enhanced Rush cd's begin their release to the record stores, which means only one week until they're in my hot hands. It's not as big of news as the new Fates cd, but it'll do for now :-)

Also, next week I'll be making my first ever trip to Chicago! If someone who lives there could email me and let me know if the Cubs are in town I'd appreciate it. Don't worry about getting tix, I'm sure I can get a ticket when I get there *somehow* :-)

    Yo!

Just in case you care but didn't know, Castle has remastered all the Sabbath CD's (up to The Eternal Idol at least) and included all the original artwork and some have bonus tracks. If you haven't heard these RUN, don't walk to the store and pick these bad boys up. I hear that Live Evil was shortened a little, but all the others are complete and just sound ab fab! And coming from someone who's been there since Paranoid came out, THIS is where it all began for Heavy Metal! Steppenwolf may have created the phrase Heay Metal, but Black Sabbath put a face to the words.

BTW: Boycott the latest Sabbath reunion! It's only a :30 set and it doesn't include Bill Ward.
