I've been to http://www.gmsnet.com/progmetal/ and I have yet to find any
.ra files for the new songs. Where are they?

I saw that Eric Johnson will be touring with Steve Miller this summer.
They are supposed to be at merrweather in Columbia MD in August. Isn't
that a weird bill?

There's some confusion over the sound clips on Dr. Mosh's page. The one
that is listed there as 'Tears' is *not* the new DT song Trial of Tears,
it's a cover of a Rush song. This song has been played live a few time
and this version is a studio version. Dr. Mosh, you might want to make a
note that this is a *cover song* and not and original so people will stop
getting confused.

Also, someone posted that they didn't like the Raise the Knife clip and
couldn't make it out. I could be wrong here, but I believe that
particular clip is taken from a video of the clinic. Basically, it's a
bad audio recording to begin with (muffled camcorder camera, mono,
probably in the back of the room), that was recorded and then further
reduced in quality by converting it to a Real Audio file (sampled at
something like 8000 hz... about 1/5 CD quality). I have heard a clean
recording of a shorter version of the the song, and it's a lot better than
the one on Dr. Mosh's page.

Whatever you do, don't base your judgement of the new DT stuff on any
clips or tape you hear before they hit the studio.

Anybody wonder what they're going to do with the songs in the studio? If
they end up changing things when they record, do you think they'll play
the 'studio version' on the next tour, or go back to the original 'live
version'? Personally, I'd like to hear the songs a little different than
they are on the album....

I got email yesterday from someone who got the impression from my last
update that if he orders now, he won't get his shirt until October. I'm
not sure what it was that made him think that, but I did want to clear up
any confusion.

All I'm doing is switching the place that I'm mailing shirts from and
receiving orders at from school here in Columbia, MO, to home in St.
Louis, MO. There shouldn't be any more than a minor delay while I switch
over. Generally, the turn around time from when you send the check to
when you get the shirt is about 2-3 weeks, with the exception of recent
orders that were postponed for over a month due to an error on my part.
Things are back up and running smoothly, and there shouldn't be any more
delays.

There are still about 70 shirts left, and I hope to get those all out by
the end of the summer... I have some other things in mind for production,
but I can't afford to start that until my debt on the shirts is paid off.

Check out the MPEG 3 files on http://www.rsabbs.com/dt/. I found a
gorgeous program called TraXtudio. This is some of the best response
I've heard from disK. On To Live Forever (the best song they've ever
done, so don't bother arguing :), I can hear John's fingers sliding up
and down a string! Real crisp... Of course, 44Khz doesn't hurt either ;)

These are my thoughts exactly. During the whole Fix boots fiasco I could have easily gotten the tapes, and still can, but I do not want to hear the new stuff until the guys want me to, aka when the new album comes out. I fgure, why listen to either a crappy RA file or a bootleg when I can just wait a few months and hear it in its amazing studio polished glory?

I just wanted to add that apparently the same kind of shit went down at the San Antonio show last night. I say apparently because like Col Mustard I wasn't stupid enough to pay $40 bucks per ticket to see Metalliturd.

I did hear from several sources, including our local corporate rock radio station, that they had bad electrical problems - one guy in the audience got set on fire and was taken out on a stretcher.

I just got through listening to Where are you Now for the third time, and I really like it. It is pretty straight forward and there is no real complex musical statement being made but the song itself is very catchy to me. I am curious if anyone knows where this was recorded? I also hear a background voice towards the end of the song that sounds like James but I can't really tell. I assumed that this song was live but when I heard that background vocal I wondered if it was a demo or something like that. I really like the solos in this one too, espeacially the keyboard solo, it is very cool and leads perfectly into the really cool acoustic bridge. Well those are just my thoughts on the whole thing...

My KTS package came in the mail today! Hooboy, they could've at least let me attempt to digest aPSoG a bit more, couldn't they? :)

Since I only got 5 discs, there were a few more that I considered but didn't decide to order. I got DT "Lords of Sound" (2CDs), Pantera "Live Beyond Driven," Extreme "Dreams Come True," and Rush "Run From The Fans." I know several others on this list made an 11th hour order from KTS also, so if anyone wants to trade copies of boots for these or any others I might have, let me know! Maybe we can trade!

Another tidbit I haven't seen posted here before: KTS sends the CDs and packaging, but to save postage, they do not send jewel boxes! Heheh, I was worried when I saw that thin envelope from Italy in the mailbox :)

Be nice, everyone, Mark Peters swifty@auburn.net

I haven't heard these clips, so I don't know if they're live or not, but I know that in a couple of the new songs at the FIX shows, Mike P. sang some backup vocals, and pretty well too. The added voice might be him.

its a demo... james is doubling himself.. since the backing vocal is a high pitched one... --

OK, I just read it on the paper that although there are no official words from the festival, DT is indeed planning to come to Brazil.

They would play at the Monsters of Rock festival on August the 30th, along with Manowar, Dio, Judas Priest and with Whitesnake as a headliner. I think that the confirmation really depends on when the band will finish the recording of the new album.

Hope everything works out and we, brazilian fans, get the long-awaited new album along with our long-awaited live DT next semester!!

P.S.: any brazilian jammer knows what's the status of the petition? It could be used to ask for a only-DT performance in Sao Paulo or Rio...

Hey, folks. I've asked this once, and I didn't get any response. The person that originally called me on this has asked me again to try and find out the truth about this.

The FAQ states that the symbol inside "LatM" is an alceringa. (I didn't write that - I inherited it.) Yet, someone else claims that it's a very generic printer's "bullet" for separating paragraphs. Maybe it's both? Neither? I don't know, and I'm hoping that one of you do. Read that part of the FAQ, take a look at the... thing inside LatM, and let me/us know what you think. Thanks.

They don't tell you this when you order and then you get this little envelope and think "awwwwww, shit!" but there are no Jewel cases in it. That can be a pain in the ass, but cases are known to break during shipping.
