I thought the plan was to have a whole bonus CD. In other words, the
identical CD to the one in the US, plus a second CD with bonus tracks on
    it. That's what's happening, isn't it?

And who is talking about a bonus track??? There'll be a BONUS CD with
the japanese edition, and I'll spend all the $40 bucks it'll cost here
to have it! (At least, may I say...)

Ok, $20 is nothing, send them to me so... =)
That's no excuse: we have the same deal here in Brazil, and in addition
we have extremely high import taxes (not sure about CD's, but it's
high), and we can still get US CD's for about $15-$18, and European CD's
for about $18-$25. Only japanese ones are highly overpriced (about $40).

Not sure if it will work, but it couldn't hurt anything. unfortunately, some of us don't have any rock stations. We here in idaho have 4 stations that play sunny came home and one headlight along with a bunch of 80's stuff all day long. Does that make sense?

My response is not in regards to Mike's project. It's in regards to how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll lollipop.

If the Bahr Debate ends now, then Mike Bahr's personal tirades regarding the blessings and curses of his personal life ALSO end now. The idea of a Bahr mailing list is a great one.

Yesterday I took a step with my right leg, and my big toe smashed into a chair leg. Gee it hurt.

I'm selling my mom. $800 or best offer, which I will put towards an upgrade of my BC Rich Ironbird "American" series to a BC Rich Ironbird "NJ" series.

Then after Mike Bahr gets his own mailing list, everyone on this list ought to subscribe to the Sarah McLachlan mailing list, just for one day. It's called "Fumbling Towards Ecstacy," named after her most popular album to date. You will learn a great deal about what the word "family" can mean to some folks in regards to a mailing list. If nothing else you will be able to put into perspective just how level-headed and smooth this list really is by comparison. ;)

Are you hinting that some of Mike Bahr's posts are prime material for an NBC mini-series? I agree.

Okay, I take back everything I said. If Melissa Bahr has a video of this, I want to hear about it RIGHT HERE on the 'jam. Forget the webpage, bring it to my inbox. I want long, detailed descriptions of the product content in this case.

Oh yeah, Rob Devereux's Unofficial T-Ride page is now visible through the search engines, for anyone interested in probing about the band. Aside from doing a search at AltaVista, the site address itself is:

Dream Theater rules. No really, I have all their albums, really I do. Plus I can do great LaBrie impressions. I studied with Mike Bahr.

Then there is the question do we want prog to become famous? The answer is both yes and no. Yes because it would be nice to see some great artists earn the money and recognition they deserve. No because it will become watered down like metal was in the 80's and alternative in the 90's (no flames please). One hit wonder prog bands called the Spice Ryches would be on the radio. Prog music is a no win situation today. :(

I wanted to give my opinion on this statement. There are SO many bands out there that have been 1 hit wonders. DT is no exception. I bought the single for Pull me Under in 1992 (I think that was the year) and never bought the album until a friend helped me see the light. Regardless, DT was a one hit wonder. HOPEFULLY they can lose that image. Something that can give me hope in this situation is the song "You not Me" which I was gifted enough to have a sneak listen to. This song is catchy (like pull me under) but has a feel (to me) like some old QR stuff (particularly Empire). Anyways (to sum this up) Yes, DT was a one hit wonder but hopefully WAS will be the keyword! It's a cult following (sure it's a big cult) but regardless it is. Gotta run..... Lata, J

I think that often these japanese releases aren't worth the money being charged, because they usually offer 1 or 2 extra tracks and the difference in price is more than 10 or 20 dollars. Thinking this way, you can buy some bootle... ops! the forbidden word!

Let's say we share the same viewpoints. :-)

In fact, if you go to the Galleria, you can get almost any CD that one can think of for $20 if it is a bootleg (well, maybe you'll have to spend some minutes visiting some shops) or $25 if it is a rare release. The real problem is that a lot of sellers are taking advantage from the fact that people always go there to find rarities and then they are raising their prices.

    Hay all:

In Jam #2860, omeraron@mail.netvision.net.il said: >> there will not be a bonus tracks to the japanese >> version of FII!!! do you know why?!?!?!? i'll >> tell you!! because the totall run of the normal >> version of the cd is 78 fucking minutes!!! and >> the maximum length of a cd is 79 minutes!! so if >> they wanna have a bonus track they will have to do >> it very very fast,if you know what i mean.....

I think you're wrong, "omeraron@mail.netvision.net.il". I have a copy of the Japanese version of "Awake" and it contains a bonus track of "Eve" on a 3" mini-CD. It seems reasonable that DT could release "Falling Into Infinity" in Japan with a bonus track or two if they used this mini-CD approach again. Wouldn't you agree? Actually, it makes perfect sense because then the label could press a whole run of normal CD's and just insert the Japanase lyric sheet and mini-disc into it, rather than doing separate pressings for Japan.

It's discouraging that a fellow DT fan would tell everyone on the 'Jam to "shut the fuck up." Before you flip out and swear and act crazy, please make sure your facts are straight. We're all excited about FII and bonus tracks, but I guess we all have to wait until the disc is released before we can be sure.
