Hi, I'm your typical DT fanatic, but I have one question that remains
unanswered.......What happened to Charlie Dominici after DT kicked him
out of the band? Is he singing in another band, or has he layed low
ever since? Any help is appreciated.

1) Ever get a CD that didn't live up to its expectations ?? Of course
you have. I would be willing to trade a CD of Tourniquet "Pathogenic
Ocular Dissonance" for something that you may want to purge from your
collection. This just wasn't as complex as I had been led to believe.
2) Mighty Mighty Bosstones. I have heard that they have a CD called
"Here We Go Again". Do any jammers know anything at all about this CD
?? Please let me know.
Thanks,
Mark Metzger

ok, i know this sounds odd and may have been discussed here before but on
Lifting Shadows From a Dream starting at 4:50 and going to 5:06 My ears are
hearing John Petrucci playing the old Wheel of Fortune theme as the guitar
line, could it be coincidental or just that he liked it? listen to the song
and post here what you think, the Wheel of fortune theme that i hear is from
about 7 or 8 years ago.

Yes...you did hear the wheel of fortune theme...except it's on
"scarred"...not LSOAD.

me being the resident bosstone freak, i haven't heard of this. i
have all the albums (and seen them...5 times, i think), and no, i've
never heard of this.
here's what they've released:
devil's night out
more noise & other distrubances
ska-core, the devil & more
don't know how to party
question the answers
..and don't forget the cool-ass "where'd ya go?" single with the
aerosmith, van halen and metallica cover.

It's 8:00 at night and there hasn't been one Jam yet! Wasn't like three
days ago when there were four or five cranked out per day. Did I
accidently unsubscribe or something? Is everybody just really busy? Oh
I get it- it's just a joke the whole Ytsejam is secretly playing on me.
Ha Ha Ha! What would I do without you guys! You all are a bunch riots
you know that. One jam a day would be perfect but none at all? Not
cool.

Havent seen this one mentioned yet, but Rudess/Morgenstein will release their
project in '97. Those of you who have heard them open for DT, know that this
stuff is incredible.
I have bought the Solo album "Listen" by Jordan Rudess, and it is Excellent. If
you like keyboard-oriented music such as Emerson Lake and Palmer, you should
check this one out. I will write up a review of it and post it here on the Jam
soon.

Weeelll,
I went out and bought a Michael Hedges album today, since there was
alot of talk on the jam about him a while back and it just happened
to catch my eye at the music store. This is NOT what I'd expected.
It's still good, mind you, but I was getting the impression that it'd
be a full band type of classical guitar stuff. Guitars, bass,
backing keys, drums, etc. Kinda Yanni on guitar. I got the album
Taproot. Are all of his albums like this? Just wondering.
Anyway, if you noticed the jamz are less spacious, it's cuz I quit
posting so much. :) Changed the nick, too. Just too lazy to change
the sigs is all...

Got to disagree. "Awake" is, according to my bad and biased taste,
one of the best sounding album ever, overall. Not to mention that I
just adore the way the drums sound. They can be vague, they can be
big, they can guide you or provoke you... It's a step towards
maturity.

Hi!
Since a lot of people have been asking me recently how to get
DT bootlegs, here is a list of some boots I got at good prices
in Berlin and which I'm willing to sell. If you're interested,
drop me a mail. Expect to pay around 20$ incl. postage ( while
the CDs were quite cheap (cheap for bootlegs, that is), postage
isn't). People who asked me or who did trades with me are
served first!

Hi everyone,
I am looking for someone that might have an audio recording of the
Dec. 5th, 1996 Fix for '96 show. The show was on Long Island but for
the life of me I can't remember what the name of the club was
*shrug*. Anyway if anyone has this show or knows who to get it from
please e-mail me and we can set up a trade. I might even have other
Fix shows *grin*. Thanks.

Hiya, I just joined Ytsejam and in the first digest I received there was some posting about online cd traders in there. There is one company (Italian I *think*) that hasn't been mentioned yet (good or bad). They are called KTS - and there are 3 DT bootlegs in their catalogue. The url is:
I have a friend who has ordered from them before and he does recommend them.

I agree with ya Bruce... I wouldn't have thought that Mike (or his roadie) spends hours taping up his heads, & I found that I got much better results once I'd ungaffer-taped my heads & taken a few tips from a local drum shop...
Let the drums ring (properly tuned) you get a much better projecting sound rather than a thud like a cardboard box... but then maybe that's what most people like these days... each to their own...
If ya want my tips then mail me privately...

Wow!!! I just got "The damnation game" by Symphony X the other day because I kept hearing about it here... hey man! it R00ls!!! I had heard the title track before, and I thought it was quite nice but I put it low in my priorities list because I didn't hear much of their 'progressiveness'. However the other tracks on the disc are really great with some pretty mean progressive riffs. The guitar work is brilliant. Lots of shredding, but good quality shredding, each solo having that interesting lick here and there, making it stand out. (being a guitarist I had to mention this 1st, of course, and now...) The bassist every now and then plays a mini solo or something difficoult along with the guitar, the vox are great - they remind me of Tony Martin a bit and a bit of Mike Vescera... Keyboards are also great, mainly on the lower range for rythm parts, which I tought was nice as it creates a bit of a 'darker' atmosphere... Drumming is ...errr... great too, but I don't have much to say about it... but definitely good drumming. :) Well, that does it, I guess, the only thing that I didn't like that much was some very abrupt time changes, making the pieces a bit dis con nec ted Anyway, I recommend this cd to anyone who would like to hear what DT would sound like if Malmsteen was their guitarist! ;)
