You can download a QT Video Clip of the LIE Video from the Electra WWW Site.
You can find the link at any of the DT Web pages (Well, almost any of them).

Regarding Power Of Omens, I read in Modern Drummer (No, I dont drum, I was
looking for info on the new DT album), that the Drummer in POO, has been taking
lessons from Mark Zonder of Fates Warning. Just thought you would like to know

Two more on line CD stores to stay away from are:

    CD Europe
    http://www.cdeurope.com
Hold no stock and are rude, arrogant and expensive, plus they don't let you know the
final cost of your order, you find out when you get your credit card statement.

    CD Teleshop
    http://www.cdteleshop.com
Same again, hold no stock, do not answer your e-mail, I only got a reply after yelling
into their answering machine, and more than a month after I placed my order I still have
    not received anything.

I can highly recommend both CD Now and CD Universe, both are fast, reliable and friendly.

    Cheers

I got the Images and Words songbook from WB yesterday. I was following
along with the disk and noticed HEY THERE IS A TOTAL LACK OF KEYBOARD SOLOS
    IN HERE! WTF????

Anyone know where I could grab just the keys? Don't want guitar tabs!

A word of amusement -- I think they just ran the vocal track through midi --
no way would any sane person actually WRITE in all those grace notes.

Also, I seem to remember reading some time ago that John Petrucci and his
wife (Roxane? I forgot her name) had just (at the time) had twins. Anyone
know about the band's families? Myung is just a little older than me (isn't
he the youngest?) -- and they're all hitched... Was wondering if little
bitty jammers might be causing the uh hold up in production here and might
possibly make a difference in travelling distance. Like are they going to
tour Oklahoma City or what?? These fellas seem the sort who would stay home
with their sweeties & new babies rather than run around the world on tour.
They're so... rated G... DT is about the only rock band I'd let my children
listen to. Actually they're a captive audience, come to think of it.

want to do something like that?!

I mean some people like dead sounding drums but not me personally. Just take
a little time and learn to tune those bad boys. Just my humble dissenting
    opinion.

A cd I'm looking forward to is the Chromakey cd. I thought it was coming out
soon but when I check the news on the page it say its contains no data. So

Man, Phish is really good. The bass player (name escapes me off
hand) has an excellent sense of groove. If you dig some rather
lengthy extended jams, get some live stuff (A Live One, or any number
of bootlegs). I recently saw a 4 CD bootleg set of them doing the
Quadraphenia in its entirety (and some other stuff) for $99. Yeha,
standard price per CD for a boot, I guess, but a tad expensive for
me. They, however, are not metal by any stretch, but I highly
    recommend them.
One more prog-ish release scheduled for this spring/summer.
Tourniquet's new album is due out. Don't know a name yet, or a
definite date, but reports say it's supposed to be "the TOurniquet
album fans have been wanting to hear for some time (since Pathogenic
    Ocular Dissonance?)."

The cost will depend on the size and type of head you want to wear. Oil
filled heads are more expensive and will help kill that blasted ring man!

Before you throw those bad boys away, you can use your 14'' head for a
muffler for your snare that is if it is a 14'' drum. Cut your 14 or 15'' head
around the outside edge just as it starts to curve down to the metal ring along
the outside edge to cut the ring off. Now you have a 14'' piece of circular
mylar. Leave 3/4 to an 1'' of margin and cut the middle out of it. When you
are finished you be looking and a mylar donut 14'' in diameter an inch wide.
Place this on top of your snare head - no tape needed. Kiss you ring goodbye
boy. I haven't tried this for toms it may work. Usually for live performances
muffling <sp>? is not necessary - proper tuning will safice.

About what is mentioned below.. Hmmmmm..... Don't know that I would do that to
my drums - they just too dear to me my fellow Dreamite.

On an unrelated note: How have you guys been doing?? Long time no-hear. I've
been watching from a distance. :)

    I know that...

a wonderful thing is a trigger, a trigger is a wonderful thing, it tops a
thing called rhythm it kills a thing called ring....

Mike P. if your reading this I&W is the best DT effort to date drum wise IMO.
Please be flexible on the trigger issue.

Any Phoenix jammers out there? I'll be in the "city of heat" next week with
some evening time to kill. I'd like to see if there is some trading we can do
or maybe I'll just bring the media and a few bucks for your time and you could
record my some rare DT. Hm????

God Bless and Take care All......

Well, being in Burlington, I hear a lot of Phish on the radio. I like what I've heard. Jazzy, a little proggy, great instrumentation, great harmonies. Their live stuff tends to drag a bit for my tastes, but they know how to jam. They're one of those bands whose CDs I carry around the store for 45 minutes, and put them down on my way to the counter. But definitely falls in the "not bad at all" category for me.

What they actually did is borrow a lot of themes from many various parts of the album there. There are also other places on the album where they borrowed from one song for another.

Why? Cause it's neat as hell.

    > From: Jazzmin Belle Sommers <jazzmin@ou.edu> > Subject: DT after strep throat is very very ugly > > Does anyone have any suggestions for how to get back to that nice clear > sound? My crossover has shifted way low, and I sound more like Michael

First of all, let me say that I in no way presume to be an expert on this matter. This is what usually works for me. I have no idea if there's any scientific basis behind any of this at all.

When my voice is feeling particularly like shit, what I do is drink some variety of tea product. I assume real (hot) tea, with lemon and/or honey, would be best, but Snapple seems to do ok for me.

Also, avoid all dairy products as much as you can. It stuffs up your sinuses and then you have all that frothy sputnum to deal with.

Finally, warm up a *lot* before you attempt to sing for real. Sit down with the piano/guitar/whatever and do a couple of scales. Start at the low end of your range and work to a little above the middle. Then break out the tapes and try to sing along at moderate volume with something you're comfortable singing - for me this is often Alice In Chains' softer stuff and Stone Temple Pilots. Whatever works for you. Then, eventually work it up to concert volume.

Once I've warmed up like that, I can pretty much tackle anything in my "normal" range (which still totally excludes all DT except the beginning of "Lie". :)

Oh, and one final non-scientific note. I love DayQuil. It does wonders for me. Clears me up in like 5 minutes. Two of those happy little caplets and I'm Pavarotti.

I don't know about the rest of you ytsefolks, but to me it showed up as: >http://www.primenet.com/%7Eshaun/impulse/

    Let me try it... http://www.primenet.com/~Eshaun/impulse

Wonder why the tilde didn't come out right...

Don't know how many Queensryche fans are out there, but the new single should be released on March 11, and it's called "Sign of the Times". For a complete track list (I believe) go to http://www.mcs.net/~ryche (that's a tilde before ryche, in case it doesn't show up right) and click on the "Hear in the Now Frontier" logo.

    Have fun!!

WOW!!! Star Wars was awesome!!! Some of the scenes of the X-wings near the end actually sent chills down my spine, no kidding!!! Some of the new CGI creatures were kinda distracting but alot of the new CGI scenery shots kicked ass!!! (MF leaving the hanger!! WHOA!!!)

If you are any sort of SW fan at all, do yourself a HUGE favor and see this thing in the theater!!!!

May The Force Be With You!!!!!!!
