I couldn't agree more, especially about informing new jammers. When I
first hit the jam I got all these offers to make trades and was pretty
leary at first, wondering who was trust-worthy. Fortunately, I've had
nothing but good trade experiences (thanks Lisa Marie, AE, & Vince). But
thanks to jammers like Pat, I also know who NOT to trade with. It's
important we all stick together here and keep each other informed, even
if it means stepping on some toes. After all, its not like bad traders
didn't ask for it through their actions.

Yes! I'm not the only one! I HATED PL when it was first released. Then
I listened to it more <usually when going to sleep> and I realized that it
was the soundtrack to my life. It has just had a big impact on me. As
Queensryche will tell you themselves: heavy does not necessarily mean
headbanging. I thought Rage was the best until then.

Theater vs. Alternative". But anyhow, here goes:
According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, here are the definitions of
alternative vs. progressive:
1) Alternative - offering a choice.

2) Progressive - moving forward or onward; advancing.

Folks, does this say it all or what?!?! When it comes to alternative,
yes; I'm offered a choice. I choose NOT to listen to it! (ha ha)
Progressive music continues to advance and move forward in quality,
variety, and musical taste. So there is never a dull moment in
most progressive rock bands. I think these definitions and
classifications fit very well the categories of alternative music vs.
progressive music!

Another case of live version envy here. This is such a powerful song, but listen to the live version with the extended jam session at the end. THAT is the way to end a show. I totally agree that whenever the boys decide to stop playing live, this is the last song they should play. Just extend that end out - make the song like 30 minutes long, and just run that jam forever. Then shut off the lights and quietly lay and wait for sleep......

Reeves Gabrels is on the new Bowie album? Please tell me this is true! This guy is amazing: his stuff with Tin Machine is even more insane live than on the albums. Oh, and it was Jeff Hayes who gave that *enlightening* review of Promised Land. I've got my facts straight and retract my apology (like he cares). I'm just tired of seeing *Such and such album sucks* reviews on here. A combination of piss and shit? Was not aware either had aural qualities. The petition sounds like a good idea, but doesn't it seem to be a little far fetched. I don't know...maybe I'm just a skeptic, but it's not like we'd be petitioning a government agency, or something to that effect. We're petitioning a record company....which DT has BEEN signed with and is contractually obligated to. Now, we don't know the ins and outs of their contract and that's what the record company will use to respond to the petition, if they choose to respond at all. My point is that they could tell us to go shit in our collective hats...they're not looking for re-election....Show me where to sign, though. I 'm as hopeful as you are....
BTW, in reference to the DT tribute album...I call lead vocals on "The Silent Man" with Al Balkiewicz on harmonies, or vice versa. God knows that we've been practicing for years!!!! Although I am a bit nervous to be around Al.
