You also might want to listen to some of their newer stuff, which sounds
quite different, not to mention has a different singer as well. I would
try to hear The Best of Both Worlds which is
a double cd that came out recently. It has one cd of M with the old
singer (Fish) and one cd with the new singer (Steve Hogarth). Both cds
take songs from 4 albums. There is another cd
called Six of One, Half-Dozen of the Other which includes songs from
both singers as well.
I would then decide which, if any songs you like, then ask someone
(me,Itchy, etc) what albums they are on and then get those. Also if you
like the old Marillion, Fish has many solo albums, a sampling of which
can be found on his recent Yin and Yang cds.
BTW, both are touring the states this Summer, so just go check out a
show.

I hope Stixxntrixx isn't the sensitive type, it'd be a shame to scare off a mature poster with such a frothy welcome. Not that Scott and Brandon aren't nice guys, but Trixx-R-For-Kids kept his tone pretty well under control, which is rare... Like the BC Rich Warlock. Hi all (with the obvious exception of the arse-wipe mail forger)
Let's assume a group X has three or more albums. You like at least two of these albums. Do you buy the others (which you don't really like that much) just to complete the set? I was wondering about this last night. I've got albums from loads of bands that meet the above criteria - i.e. I like two or more albums but I wouldn't buy the rest. In fact I was a little surprised when I realized that I've only got 'the works' from a mere seven bands:

The current vocalist, D.C.Cooper, has only been on the last couple of albums (I think one studio LP, then a live LP, and the new album coming out). What's weird is that this guy is from my hometown, Pittsburgh PA, and was in a local band here for a couple years. Actually, a soundman from this area named Randy Mueller, who runs sound for the likes of Royal Hunt and other European bands, introduced D.C. to Royal Hunt. It's kind of wierd, cuz when he won that Buurn Magazine award, it showed up in the local magazines as well. We just never thought it would happen to anyone in our area. His old band was called the Tung Bandits, and they were pretty straight ahead hard rock/metal.

I don't know much at all about KX, so I can't address that song. But "If I Were A Killer" seems to me the least likely song to be anti-abortion. It's just about a guy who wants to be a mass murderer. Simply fun stuff like that. :)
If you want an anti-abortion song, try "Rock A Bye Bye" from the first Extreme album.

The band was Damn Yankees. The bandmates in question were Tommy Shaw (ex-guitar for Styx, and might be with them again - who can keep track?) and Jack Blades (ex-bass for Night Ranger - I believe currently picking his ass and watching TV). Their (DY's, that is) first album was really good, and I saw them live twice. Their second album didn't do anything at all for me, though.
